Description
DISPLAY DEVICE OF DOMESTIC APPLIANCE
The present invention relates to a display device of a domestic appliance, and more particularly to a light-emitting diode display device. The device includes a printed circuit board (PCB) disposed with several light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a support fixed on the PCB and disposed with several loopholes, the support is made of a light-tight material, and positions of the loopholes are in a one-to-one correspondence with those of the LEDs.
A current domestic appliance is generally disposed with a display device, which is used for displaying such information as procedure, status, and time of a machine. An LED display device is the most widely applied.
A structure of a known LED display device 10 is shown in FIG. 1 of the attached drawing, which includes a PCB 2, a light-proof support 4, a light guide plate 6, and a display film 8. Characters or pattern marks 12 are disposed on the display film 8, wherein a corresponding character or pattern mark is a transparent design, and the rest is opaque design. The light guide plate 6 is covered with the display film 8. The light guide plate 6 is integrally made of a non-light tight material, and light guide posts 14 are positioned on the light guide plate 6 corresponding to the characters or the pattern marks on the display film 8. The light-proof support 4 is made of a light-tight material, and respective loopholes 16 are positioned corresponding to the light guide posts 14. The light guide plate 6 and the light- proof support 4 are two components independent of each other. The light guide plate 6 is mounted on the light-proof support 4, and the light guide posts 14 are received in corresponding loopholes 16. Therefore, barriers 18 between the loopholes 16 separate the light between adjacent light guide posts 14. The light- proof support 4 is mounted in a corresponding slot 22 on the PCB 2 through a clasp 20. Positions corresponding to the loopholes 16 on the PCB 2 are disposed with LEDs. Therefore, the light emitted by the LEDs penetrates the light guide posts 14, so as to make the characters or the pattern marks 12 on the display film 8 be displayed.
Such display device has the following problem in that the light guide part 6 and the light-proof support 4 are independent of each other, so after assembly of both, some clearance is inevitably left between the light guide posts 14 and the loopholes 16; just due to the clearance, an optical crosstalk phenomenon may occur to the displayed content. Such phenomenon is mainly presented in that the light emitted by the LED partially penetrates adjacent loopholes corresponding to LED in a non-emitting status, so that a part originally without the need of display displays a weak light. For example, a transverse line is faintly superfluously added in the middle of a number "0" displayed in a seven-segment digital manner, which looks somewhat like "8", so that a consumer could be confused, and meanwhile display definition and aesthetics are also influenced. Second, an assembly clearance may exist between the display film 8 and the light guide plate 6, so such optical crosstalk phenomenon is also aggravated.
The present invention aims to avoid or alleviate the optical crosstalk phenomenon in the prior art, and improve the display definition of a display device.
The above purposes are implemented through the following technical solution. A display device of a domestic appliance includes a PCB and a support fixed on the PCB and disposed with several loopholes, in which the support is made of a light-tight material; LEDs are disposed on positions on the PCB corresponding to the loopholes, a light guide part is integrated on the support, and the light guide part is made of a light guide material and includes light guide posts filling the loopholes. No assembly clearance exists between the light guide part and the support that are formed integrally, so the light can be well obstructed, and be avoided to leak out from an adjacent loophole, thereby avoiding an optical crosstalk phenomenon caused by an assembly problem of the light guide part and the support.
Preferably, the light guide part is integrally molded on the support in a two-shot injection molding manner. further preferred improvement, the light guide part includes a display
surface opposite to the PCB, the display surface is covered with an opaque material, and non-light tight characters or figure marks are disposed on positions corresponding to the light guide posts to form a display film that bears the relevant information to be given to a user. Through such improvement, the display film and the light guide part are integrated, and no clearance exists between the both, so as to prevent the light transferred from the light guide post from being irradiated onto an adjacent character or figure mark, thereby making the display even more distinct and precise.
According to another preferred improvement, a display window and the PCB sandwich the support and the light guide part, the support includes a flange extending out of the display window and contacting with the display window hermetically, and the flange is disposed around the loopholes and the light guide posts. The flange extending out protects the display area, and prevents water vapor and dust from entering the display area. According to a further preferred improvement, the flange is integrated with the support and made of an elastic material. Therefore, no additional sealing component is needed, thereby simplifying the assembly procedure, and reducing the production cost.
Preferred embodiments of the invention are now described in detail with reference to the related figures of the attached drawing. In the drawing,
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of an existing LED display device;
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of an LED display device of a domestic appliance according to a specific embodiment of the present invention;

The foregoing components are sequentially stacked. Non-light tight characters or pattern marks (not shown, referring to FIG. 1 ) are disposed on the display film 106, and the rest part other than the characters or the pattern marks is designed to be opaque.
Further, referring to FIG. 3, the light-proof light guide part 104 includes a support 1 12 disposed with several loopholes 1 10 and a light guide part 1 16 integrated on the support 1 12 and including several light guide posts 1 14. The support 1 12 is made of a light-tight material, and the light guide part 1 16 is made of a light guide material. The light guide posts 1 14 are filled in the loopholes 1 10 of the support 1 12 correspondingly. The support 1 12 includes several clasps 1 18, which are respectively locked in corresponding slots 120 on the PCB 102. Through connection between the clasps 1 18 and the slots 120, the support 1 12 is fixed on the PCB 102. At least one LED (not shown) is correspondingly disposed at positions corresponding to the loopholes 1 10 of the support on the PCB 102. The at least one LED selectively emits light according to circuit control, and the light penetrates the light guide posts 1 14 in the loopholes 1 10 and is irradiated onto the display film 106, so as to lighten characters or pattern marks 126 at the corresponding positions.
Preferably, the light guide part 1 16 is integrally moulded on the support 1 12 in a two-shot injection moulding manner. In addition, other manners of integrally moulding two materials in batches known by persons skilled in the art may be applied as specific embodiments.
