Description
A method of baking food in a household appliance
The present invention relates to a method of baking food in a household appliance, such as in an oven of a built-in cooking range, built-in oven, cooking range and similar, comprising setting an operation of a heating body and/or heating bodies, setting temperature and baking time.
Setting the operation of heaters in baking cavity of an oven and the functioning thereof is generally designed in two ways. With the first way, the setting of the operation is provided by means of mechanical devices, where a user manually dials a mechanical switch and, thus, sets a mechanical thermostat. With the second way of said functioning of oven heaters, the setting of operation is designed either by means of electronic modules or via mechanical switches and/or electronic. In this case, the user selects the relevant baking programme, depending on the type of food. However, in all cases a fast preheating of the oven is designed in the same manner, using the certain combination of the oven heaters and regardless to the further course of baking.
It is the object of the present invention to create a new method of baking food in a household appliance which allows the user to create and store his own programmes of baking food.
The invention is now described in more details with reference to the accompanying
drawings where Fig. 1 to Fig. 4 show schematically a display with a touch screen user interface of an oven being used by the user in order to carry out steps of said method according to the invention.
The user carries out a method according to the invention by means of a user interface, a touch screen user interface for example. Said user interface is controlled by means of a software which, on turn, is not a subject of the present invention. The user operates the oven by means of a touch screen control display 1 being essentially divided into three fields, namely a selection field 1.1, a display field 1.2 and a handling field 1.3 (Fig. 1). Depending on the current activity, different graphical signs (pictograms) are shown in said selection field 1.1. Referring to Fig. 1 for example, signs 4.1 representing the heating mode of the oven are shown in said selection field 1.1, such as a top heater and/or a bottom heater and/or a fan and similar, and Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 show additionally signs 4.2 for baking temperature, and Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 show additionally signs 4.3 for baking time and similar.
Said display field 1.2 is intended for displaying selected baking parameters represented by signs 5. Thus, in said display field 1.2, for example, a sign 5.1 is displayed showing user options that could be selected in the next steps. Furthermore, Fig. 2 shows a sign 5.2 in said display field 1.2 representing a baking mode of the oven selected in the first step, such as a top heater and/or a bottom heater and/or a fan and similar. In addition, Fig. 2 shows additionally a sign 5.3 displaying the selected baking temperature, Fig. 3 shows additionally a sign 5.4 representing an option for adding the next baking step, and Fig. 4 shows, next to a sign 5.5 displaying baking parameters, a new sign 5.4 for adding the next baking step. Said signs can be repeated depending on the selected baking mode.
Said handling field 1.3 which is arranged, according to the preferred embodiment of the invention, between said selection field 1.1 and said display field 1.2 comprises a pair of vertically oriented and in opposite direction directed arrows 6.1, 6.2, and optionally a plurality of interpretation signs, such as an alarm sign and similar.
According to the present invention, a method of backing starts with a step where a user selects a heating mode of an oven, which is done in a manner that a user on said control display 1 showing said user interface, selects in said selection filed 1.1 a respective sign 4 for selection of the heating mode such as the top or bottom heater, said selection being shown
in said display field 1.2 as it is represented with the sign 5.2 in Fig. 2. Afterwards, in said selection field 1.1 signs 4.2 for selecting the temperature are displayed to which temperature the oven is to be heated. The user sets said temperature by means of said arrows 6.1, 6.2 in said handling filed 1.3. Now, a new sign 5.3 showing the selected temperature is displayed above said sign 5.2 in said display field 1.2, whereas a sign 4.3 is shown in selection filed 1.1 (Fig. 3) in order to display the time of operating the oven in selected heating mode with the selected temperature. Said time is set by the user using the arrows 6.1, 6.2 in said handling field 1.3. At this moment, next to said sign 5.2 for selected heating mode of the oven, a new sign 5.4 is shown representing a possibility to select a new heating mode of the oven. The user now has a possibility either to activate the baking mode selected in the previous step, which can be done by pressing a START sign in said selection field, or to continue further by entering the second heating mode of the oven, which can be done in the same way as it is described above for the first step of the method according to the invention.
The user can enter said parameters for different baking modes as often as the user wishes, whereby said sign 5.4 is displayed after each selection of time, thus representing a possibility of the selection of a new heating mode of the oven. After the user has selected all the corresponding steps of baking, the user activates baking by pressing the sign START, and the oven and the control system thereof, respectively, will perform baking of food in a manner required by the user. Each time the user enters all the baking parameters of certain food they can be permanently stored by the user for the potential future quick selection, which can be done by means of pressing a certain sign 7, the sign SAVE in the given case, as it is shown in the display field 1.2 in Fig. 3, thus creating user's own database of the baking recipes.
The possibility of fast preheating of the oven is optionally available to the user which is shown in the display field 1.2 by means of a sign 8, for instance. If the fast preheating of the oven has been selected, a sign 8.1 representing the selection of the fast preheating of the oven is shown next to the sign 5.2 representing the heating mode of the oven.
Furthermore, the possibility of selecting warming-up the food is available to the user, which is represented in the display field 1.2 by means of a sign 9 for example. If the warming-up the food has been selected, a sign 9.1 representing the selection of warming-up the food is shown next to to the sign 5.2 representing the heating mode of the oven.
