Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cyclic azine derivative having two different types of substituents on the azine ring and a method for producing the same. These cyclic azine derivatives are useful as components of fluorescent or phosphorescent organic electroluminescent devices because they have good charge transport properties. Therefore, the present invention further relates to a high-efficiency organic electroluminescent device excellent in drivability and luminescent property, in which these are used in at least one organic compound layer of the organic electroluminescent device.
- An organic electroluminescent device has a structure in which a light-emitting layer containing a light-emitting material is sandwiched between a hole transport layer and an electron transport layer, and an anode and a cathode are attached to the outside, and holes injected into the light-emitting layer And an element that utilizes light emission (fluorescence or phosphorescence) when excitons generated by electron recombination are deactivated.
- Organic electroluminescent elements are widely applied to displays and the like.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose examples in which pyrimidines are used for organic electroluminescent elements. These are not limited to substitution positions on the phenyl group at the 2-position of the pyrimidine ring, but are specific examples of pyrimidines substituted with a 3,5-disubstituted phenyl group, such as the pyrimidine derivative of the compound (1a) of the present invention. No example is described. Further, specific examples of pyrimidines substituted with a 3,5-disubstituted phenyl group such as the pyrimidine derivative of the compound (1a) of the present invention are not described.
- Patent Documents 3 and 4 disclose examples in which pyrimidines having a 4-substituted phenyl group are used in an organic electroluminescent device, which are characterized by having a 3,5-disubstituted phenyl group. It is different from the compound (1a) of the present invention.
- Patent Document 5 discloses an example in which pyrimidines having a phenyl group fused with an aromatic hetero 5-membered ring are used in an organic electroluminescence device, and these have a 3,5-disubstituted phenyl group. This is different from the compound (1a) of the present invention.
- Patent Document 6 discloses an example (Synthesis Example 4) of a pyrimidine having a substituted phenyl group at the 2-position of the pyrimidine ring.
- the substituent at the 3,5-positions of this substituted phenyl group is “unsubstituted phenyl group”. It is.
- the substituted phenyl group at the 2-position of the pyrimidine ring is not necessarily substituted with a substituted phenyl group having a substituent or a group 16 element. It is completely different in that it is a group, and also completely different from the compound (1c) of the present invention.
- Patent Document 7 discloses an example in which a 1,3,5-triazine derivative is used for an organic electroluminescence device. These 1,3,5-triazine derivatives do not have a polycyclic aromatic group and are different from any of the compounds (1b) and (1c) of the present invention.
- Patent Documents 8 and 9 disclose examples in which a 1,3,5-triazine derivative having a polycyclic aromatic group is used for an organic electroluminescence device. These triazine derivatives are limited to those causing structural isomerism due to steric hindrance of polycyclic aromatic groups, and these are different from any of the compounds (1b) and (1d) of the present invention.
- the triazine derivative described in Patent Document 8 describes an example in which the phenyl group bonded to 1,3,5-triazine has an aromatic hydrocarbon group composed of two 2-4 rings. Absent.
- both patent documents do not describe any glass transition temperature (Tg) and electron mobility of the compound.
- Patent Document 10 discloses an example of a compound having 1,3,5-triazine and a pyrenyl group (compound 6-13). However, there are no specific examples of such compounds, and there is no description regarding Tg and mobility.
- Patent Documents 9 and 11 disclose examples in which a 1,3,5-triazine derivative, which is a cyclic azine, is used for an organic electroluminescence device.
- the position of the substituent on the phenyl group at the 2,4,6-position of the triazine ring is not limited, and the 3,5-disubstituted phenyl group or 2,6-
- the compound (1c) of the present invention having a disubstituted pyridyl group is not specifically shown.

- An object of the present invention is an organic electroluminescence device that can be driven at a low voltage and has a high efficiency, a high glass transition temperature, and a high electron mobility when used as a constituent material of an organic electroluminescence device.
- the object is to provide a cyclic azine derivative having a novel structure which provides a device or an organic electroluminescent device having excellent charge injection and transport properties and durability that enables a long lifetime of the device.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing the above cyclic azine derivative. Still another object of the present invention is to provide an organic electroluminescent device comprising the cyclic azine derivative as a constituent component, which is industrially advantageous.

- fluorescent or phosphorescent organic electroluminescent devices using these as organic compound layers effectively contain excitons, resulting in lower device driving voltage and higher efficiency emission than when using general-purpose organic materials.
