Abstract

The system is designed for reuse of household gray water by a flush toilet. Gray water from sinks, showers, baths, washing machines and the like are pumped and led into a toilet tank. If necessary, the tank can be filled by potable water. The system may use the normal existent flushing tanks, and does not necessarily require any additional storage tank. The system may use an especially designed tank.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 01.09.201 1 CLAIMS What is claimed is:
1. A toilet flushing system within a household gray water system and comprising a flushing tank (91) with a flushing mechanism arranged to flush a toilet (92) with potable water, the toilet flushing system characterized in that it further comprises: a pumping unit (117) arranged to pump a part of gray household water to a gray water collector (110) connected to the flushing tank (91), or via a valve (125) directly to the flushing tank (91), and
a controller (120) arranged to allow a user select either potable water or gray water as flushing water, and to flush the toilet (92) with either potable or gray water, according to the user selection.
2. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein pumping unit (117) is arranged to pump gray water to the gray water collector (110) and the potable water is held in a potable water tank (94).
3. The toilet flushing system of claim 2, wherein the gray water collector (110) and the potable water tank (94) are placed above the flushing tank (91).
4. The toilet flushing system of claim 2, wherein the controller (120) is arranged to bring either the gray water collector (110) or the potable water tank (94) into fluid communication with the flushing tank (91), according to user selection.
5. The toilet flushing system of claim 2, wherein the controller (120) is arranged to flush the toilet (92) directly with water from either the gray water collector (110) or the potable water tank (94), according to user selection, dismissing the flushing tank (91).
AMENDED SHEET (ARTICLE 19)
6. The toilet flushing system of claim 5, wherein the potable water tank (94) and the gray water tank (110) are shaped to jointly occupy a space similar to a space occupied by the dismissed flushing tank (91).
7. The toilet flushing system of claim 2, wherein the controller (120) comprises two flushing mechanisms - one (93) for flushing the toilet (92) with potable water and the other (123) for flushing the toilet (92) with gray water.
8. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the gray water collector (110) is connected via the valve (125) directly to the flushing tank (91), and further comprising a potable water tank via a normally closed valve (124) to the flushing tank (91), wherein the water source selection is carried out by operating the valves (125, 124).
9. The toilet flushing system of claim 8, wherein at least one of valves (125, 124) is a single action valve.
10. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the gray water collector (110) is connected via the valve (125) directly to the flushing tank (91) via an additional opening in the flushing tank (91) for piping from the gray water collector (110).
11. The toilet flushing system of claim 10, wherein a potable water opening and the gray water opening are opposite to each other.
12. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the controller (120) is associated with at least one flushing mechanism mechanically or electronically.
13. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the controller (120) is further arranged to allow a user determine a quantity of flushing water.
AMENDED SHEET (ARTICLE 19)
14. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the pumping unit (117) is part of a collection unit (100) that further comprises at least one of: a filter (113); a grinder, a shredder (112); and a homogenizing unit (114).
15. The toilet flushing system of claim 1, wherein the collector (110) is further arranged to receive additives and mix the additives with the gray water.
16. A method of reusing household gray water, comprising:
pumping gray water from household gray water sources to a flushing tank via a collection unit to at least one toilet flush tank (stage 130),
allowing a user to select the pumped gray water as a toilet flushing water (stage 135), and
upon user selection, applying the pumped gray water to flush the toilet (stage
140).
17. The method of claim 16, wherein the pumping is carried out either via a gray water collector connected to the flushing tank, or via a valve directly to the flushing tank.
18. The method of claim 16, further comprising allowing the user to adjust a quantity of flushing water (stage 145).
19. The method of claim 16, further comprising at least one of: homogenizing, disinfecting and filtering the gray water (stages 150 and 160).
