Definitions
- the invention relates to a lock for a luggage box mounted in the cabin of an aircraft at the top, which has a stationary housing and a cover which can be moved about a rotation axis, with a locking bolt device which can be attached or attached to the housing and which carries at least one locking bolt, with one on the cover attachable or attached latch with at least one pivotable about a pivot axis locking hook for detecting the locking bolt for locking the lock and with a manually operable drive means for pivoting away
- the main function of such a lock is to securely lock and unlock the lid or luggage tub or chute of a luggage box in all flight conditions, including emergency landing conditions.
- the drive means within the lock is connected by a mechanical link to a control knob or handle mounted on the deck so as to be operable from outside the luggage box.
- the operation of the knob or handle leads in the known lock to a rotational movement of the mechanical link, through which the lock is unlocked.
- the lock is designed so that inadvertent opening in the loaded or unloaded state of the luggage box. is prevented.
- the latch of the lock has a fail-safe function. This purpose serves a double lock.
- This double locking is done in the known lock on the one hand by a locking pin, which is detected by a locking hook, and on the other by a locking pin which protrudes from the case when the lid of the luggage box is open, but at the closing of the lid of the luggage box by the locking bolt means is pressed into the housing of the trap.
- Both the locking pin and the locking pin are each capable of carrying the required loads.
- the problem with the known locking mechanism for a luggage box that must be operated from the centrally mounted on the lid swivel handle of two locks, which are attached to one or the other end of the lid, for which the swivel handle and the two shafts and the two traps must be mounted on an axle.
- the swivel handle makes a rotational movement, which is transmitted via the waves to the traps of the locks.
- the rotational movement is in each case converted into a pivoting movement of the closing hooks.
- the locking pin of each lock is brought into its locking position by the lid is closed.
- the striker pushes the locking pin, which moves past it, into the housing of the latch.
- the known lock is not applicable at all.
- the locking bolt device is adjustable in two axes.
- the locking pin also serves as a stop for an end stop. This has the disadvantage that with each adjustment of the locking bolt device and the stop of Endstops adjusted and must be readjusted.
- the opening of the Lock by pulling the operating handle. But since there is no transmission between the operating handle and the shaft, a higher operating force is required.
- a lock for housing, tool boxes or the like is known.
- This lock has two locking pins on a cover and two pivotable about a pivot axis locking hook, which are pivoted together by a manually operable drive means.
- a luggage box in an aircraft must have two locks, which can be operated by a common operating button. The famous castle is not suitable for this. It can be actuated by two push buttons located to the left and right of the lock. The push buttons are connected to the locking hooks by a common rigid actuator, by the displacement of the two locking hooks are pivoted together.
- Such a lock should not be used in the luggage box of an aircraft, because the locking hooks are not individually operable. If a locking hook should be blocked, the other locking hook would be blocked by him.
- a lock for locking a sliding door on a door frame is known.
- the castle includes two each one
- Pivot axis pivotable locking hooks which are pivoted together by means of a drive device in the form of a rack. Also, this known lock would not be used in a luggage box of an aircraft, because both locking hooks, at least in the opening direction, are only jointly pivoted. If a locking hook would be blocked in the closed state, the other locking hook could not be opened by means of the drive device.
- the object of the invention is to provide a lock of the type mentioned in such a way that it avoids the aforementioned disadvantages and in particular can be used in a luggage box, even if the operating knob or - handle is not on the axis of the case.
- This object is inventively achieved in that the locking bolt device carries two locking bolts that the case two in each case by one
- Pivoting axis has pivotable locking hook
- the drive device is designed for common pivoting of the locking hooks
- the drive means comprises a rack and a sliding member arranged in a linear guide one behind the other, biased by pressure of a spring element in the direction of a stop and by manual operation against the pressure the spring element in the direction away from the stop are displaceable
- the drive means comprises a gear which is engageable with the toothing of the rack engaged and by a cable.
- the lock according to the invention can be unlocked by an actuating cable, which is installed invisibly inside the lid (luggage tub or chute).
- actuating cable which is installed invisibly inside the lid (luggage tub or chute).
- the use of a light control cable brings a weight advantage. Installation is uncomplicated, because control cables can be mounted much cheaper than CFK shafts and levers. In addition to the lower weight and lower assembly costs even lower component costs are added.
- the main advantage of the lock according to the invention is that the latch and the operating button or handle need not be mounted on a common axle.
- the fail-safe function is ensured in that the trap has two locking hooks and that each locking hook engages with a locking pin, so that if one of the locking pins or locking hook should fail, the other locking pin and the other locking hook will take up the entire load can.
- the lock can also be securely locked when only one locking hook is able to its associated locking pin to capture.
- the linear pulling movement which is generated with the actuating button, is converted into a rotational movement, which in turn translates into a translatory motion. see movement of the rack and the sliding member has the consequence, which take the two locking hooks with them and pivot about the pivot points.
- the operation by a cable results in a simple, trouble-free, low-weight operation for the gear and makes the previously used in known luggage boxes waves superfluous.
- the two locks and the pivoting handle of a luggage box no longer need to be mounted on an axle.
- the locking hooks with the rack or the sliding member are each connected by a toggle which is hinged to the locking hook next to the pivot axis so that the locking position only by tensile force on the pivot point of the toggle lever on the locking hook again can be opened.
- This makes it easy to use the fail-safe (double locking) and positive locking functions required in aviation technology.
- the latter is achieved according to the invention in that the toggle levers can each be brought into an end-position blocking position in which they are mechanically locked and thus automatically prevent the lock from cracking due to overload or vibration.
- one of the two toggle is extended beyond its point of articulation on the associated locking hook out and formed as a Vorauslietyhebel for moving the rack.
- the lid In a luggage box, in which the lid is usually simply closed, without additionally also the operating knob is operated, is ensured by the closing movement of the lid by applying the pre-release latch bolt that both locking hooks are opened to then receive the two locking pins ,
- the rack on an additional toothing, which is in engagement with a toothing on a pivotally mounted Notbetuschistorshebel.
- the lock does not lock, but there is a response to the operator. In this case, the lock hook and thus the lock can be unlocked and locked manually, after which a maintenance must be carried out. In this case, however, the luggage can be removed and ensured that the lock closes safely with only one locking hook. If the locking tongs associated with the rack are clamped closed and can not be unlocked by manual operation using the emergency lever, the lock remains locked and must be serviced. This means that the luggage can only be removed after the repair.
- the locking bolts have different diameters. If one of the locking bolts can not engage with the associated locking hook, it is ensured that at least the other locking hook, which is associated with the locking pin of smaller diameter, comes into engagement with this locking pin.
- the two locking hooks are identical. Although it would be possible to use two locking pins, which have the same diameter and instead use locking hooks, in which the locking pin receiving openings have a different inside diameter, that would be in terms of spare parts inventory and assembly but the more expensive solution.
- the closing hook with which the locking pin with the smaller diameter can be brought into engagement, is assigned to the toggle lever designed as a pre-release lever. assigns. This ensures that at least the locking hook, which is connected to the rack can be brought under all circumstances in a position in which it can accommodate the locking hook of smaller diameter, even if, for example, the spring element should be broken.
- the locking hook and the locking pin need not be exactly aligned because of the smaller diameter of the locking bolt.
- lock according to the invention is for locking the lock of the lock hook, which is assigned to the pre-release lever toggle lever manually engageable by means of the Notbetuschistorshebels with the locking pin with the smaller diameter, even if the other locking pin not with the other locking hook is engaged.
