Abstract

The invention relates to a supporting back rail (10) for a frameless, multi-layered solar module (40) for placement in a carrier system (50), wherein the solar module (40) has a front face and a rear face (42), each preferably made of glass, between which an energy generating layer (74) is embedded; wherein the back rail (10) has an elongate main body (12), the geometrical length (LB) thereof substantially corresponding in the longitudinal direction (L) to a geometric length (Ls) of the rear face (42) of the solar module (40) from an outer edge (112) to an opposite outer edge (114) of the solar module (40), between which the main body (12) is attached to the rear face (42) of the solar module (40), preferably by means of an adhesive (80); wherein the back rail (10) further has at least one nose element (28) which connects to one of the longitudinal ends (30, 32) of the main body (10) in the longitudinal direction (L) and which extends around one of the outer edges (112) of the solar module (40) without contact when the back rail (10) is attached to the solar module (40); and wherein the nose element (28) has a first section (108) which extends in the longitudinal direction (L) and a second section (110) connected to the first section (108) which extends along the one outer edge (112) without contact such that the second section (110) protrudes (ΔH) over the front face of the solar module (40) in a height direction (H).
