Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for inputting a password using a touch screen, comprising the steps of: displaying at least one background picture on the touch screen; generating trajectory data by means of a touch inputted by a user on the touch screen on which the background picture is displayed; comparing the trajectory data to pre-stored security number trajectory data; and successfully completing password authentication when the trajectory data is the same as the security number trajectory data. According to the present invention, in order to receive an input of a password key from a user, a separate input device such as a number keypad or keyboard, or a similarly configured (software) fixed input screen is not required, and password key security and convenience in inputting same can simultaneously be achieved, thus creating interest by providing a tool that not only enables a user to freely set a personal security number required for password authentication through an arbitrary touch movement, but also enables versatile selection and setting by a user by means of diverse methods on a displayed background picture.
