Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a security and/or valuable product, in particular a security and/or valuable document, comprising the following method steps: a) a substrate is coated with a marking layer (1) containing a luminescent substance, b) a plurality of partial regions (2a, 2b, 2c) of the marking layer are altered, in a manner forming a defined pattern specific to the security and/or valuable product, with the proviso that the luminescence emission of the luminescent substance is amplified or attenuated in the partial regions, c) a character sequence is assigned to the pattern produced in stage b) in a preferably one-to-one manner, d) the character sequence assigned in stage c) is applied in readable fashion as an identification character sequence on the security and/or valuable product and/or is integrated in readable fashion therein. The invention furthermore relates to a security and/or valuable product obtainable in this way, and to a method for verifying such a security and/or valuable product.
