Abstract
The invention relates to an inertial energy storage device that includes a frame (2) and at least one flywheel (1) rotatably mounted relative to the frame (2) about a rotational axis (3), means for subjecting at least one surface (6) of the flywheel to a gas pressure that generates, by comparison with the pressure applied to a substantially opposite surface (11), a rising differential pressure force that at least partially compensates for the weight of the flywheel.
