Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for managing video content based on a broadcasting set-top box, more specifically to the method that: is able to receive basic information from a broadcasting server for an IPTV at a low capacity promptly in order to reproduce a video, wherein the basic information is for generating a video; and enables a user to easily edit the content and composition of the video. The invention is aimed at providing the method for managing video content based on a broadcasting set-top box which receives video information from the broadcasting server so that the user may use the video information in the set-top box, wherein the video information is formatted to be easily reproduced and edited by the user. The invention enables the reception and reproduction of the video information in the set-top box by classifying the video information into resource information and scenario information so that the user may produce content easily by oneself. The invention is able to reduce the load of the broadcasting server by remarkably reducing the amount of data transmitted from the broadcasting server to an IPTV, and allows the construction of a rapid and stable IPTV watching environment in the set-top box.
