Description

Armor guard for resisting and deflecting objects having kinetic energy
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
Armor guard is a device that protects from the fired projectiles, bullets, bladed weapons & hand grenade. This device is working on the principal of resisting and deflecting kinetic energy projectiles .Also it absorbs some amount of kinetic energy.
BACKGROUND:
Now a day a ballistic vest or bullet proof vest protects a person from the impact of gun-fire projectiles & explosive fragments at the torso. Soft vests available are made from layers of tightly woven fibers to protect wearers from projectiles from handguns, short gun and shrapnel from explosive such as hand grenade. Police forces, private security guards and laymen usually wear soft vests. The hard-plate reinforced vests are mainly worn by combat soldiers in the armies and police armed response unit.
Modern body armor may combine a ballistic vest with other items of protective clothing such as helmet. Vest may be augmented with steel or titanium metals. Ceramic or polyethylene plates provide extra protection to vital areas. These hard armor plates have proven effective against all handgun, bullets and a range of rifles. These "tactical body armor" vests have become standard in military rifle rounds. Armour vests made from layers of fabric, neither resistant to water nor resist the impact of the projectiles.
The other armors made from metals or alloys having the properties that the vests made from woven fabric do not posses. These armors do have the property of absorbing the impact of the projectiles but only resists their penetration. Hence there is every chance for internal injury due to the impact of the projectile. These armors are also heavy and not easily portable to long distances. EXISTING KNOWLEDGE:
Some of the existing Armour for defeating kinetic energy projectiles and flexible impact resistance material applications are as below:
Patent No. US5402704 (Armor for defeating kinetic energy projectiles):
Discloses an improvement to existing embedded armor found in tank systems that seeks to degrade the performance of kinetic energy projectiles, traveling at speeds ranging from high to supersonic is provided. Improvements are achieved by employing a mechanical means to hold the individual plates of an armor system in standby position while allowing them to pivot about a fixed axis of rotation when contacted by an incoming projectile. A kinetic energy projectile fired at a tank usually begins penetration of primary defenses by cutting through a tipping screen and then the tank hull. When the projectile reaches and begins penetration of the embedded armor arrangement, it rotates the lead armor plate about its pivot axis and thereby travels through and out of the armor plate on an altered trajectory. The dimished and dampened projectile will encounter further deviation from its original trajectory, deterioration in size, and reduction of momentum as it reaches other spaced pivoting plates having a sequential pattern of vertically offset axes of rotation. These features ultimately add to the safety and security of personnel and stored ammunition within the tank.
This discloser deflects the projectiles when it strikes on particular portion of device in straight direction.
Patent no. US6500507 (Flexible, impact-resistant materials):
Discloses flexible impact or blast-resistant composite material comprising a strike-face comprising impact-resistant, adjacent tiles having complementary mating edges, and a flexible material having at least one layer, the material having a high resistance to local deformation and by itself being of non- ballistic properties, wherein the tiles of the strike-face are integral with the flexible material.
In this device only impact is resist & absorb, but it is not deflecting the bullet or projectile.
Our innovation is different from others. It is consist of non-rigid & ballistic materia] hook embedded on suitable ballistic material layer as per its applicability. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
An object of the invention is to provide a device adopted for use in ballistic vest, guards & war tank.
Another object of this invention is to reduce the thickness of rigid plate used in ballistic vest, guard and outer shell of wartank.
Yet another object of this invention is to reduce the weight of ballistic vest, guard & war tank.
Another object of this invention is to divert the direction of bullet or projectile.
Yet another object of this invention is to absorb the impact of bullet or projectile.
Still another object of this invention is to resist the kinetic energy of bullet or projectile.
Another object of this invention is to protect hand & legs by lightweight guards.
Yet another object of this invention is to provide weather and water resist device.
SUMMERY OF THE INVENTION:
In accordance with this invention there is provided a device adopted in armour guard to protect from object having kinetic energy comprising:
( i ) non rigid flexible material projection(l ) in form of hooks in suitable direction and angle embedded on suitable material (2)
( ii ) non rigid flexible material projection(l) embedded on flexible material layers (2) mounted on rigid ballistic plate(3) (iii) non rigid flexible material projection(l) embedded on flexible material layers(2) coated with anti rust and friction resist material(4)mounted on rigid ballistic plate(3)
Typically in which a projection means like stud made from ballistic material like spring steel, polythene, polyester etc. having flexibility.
Typically in which stud can be stapled, embedded weaved threaded, welded, fitted, on the ballistic material.
Typically ballistic material layers weaved from fibers like polyethylene, polyesters, nylon & sponge rubber etc.
Typically ballistic material layers used for holding the non-rigid studs in a suitable position.
Typically rigid ballistic plate used to help projectile or bullet slip away from non-rigid stud, also to resist the impact.
Typically ballistic material layers on which stud embedded work as a buffer action, which helps in slippering & diverting projectile or bullet.
Typically rigid ballistic plate material made up of iron steel, polyethylene, H.D.P.E. and like.
Typically anti rust, friction resist & weather resist material coating made of Teflon and like.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
AU the aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent with the description of the preferred, non-limiting embodiment, when read together with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 - Bullet striking on hooks surface, it resists & absorb the impact and changing the direction of bullet.
Figure 2-Types of layers & different types of hooks embedded on ballistic material.
Figure 3- Hooks coated with Teflon material embedded on ballistic material layers fitted on rigid surface, which is used in ballistic vest, war tank, guards.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION DRAWINGS:
Referring to Figure-1 : In fig. lA- Non rigid ballistic material hooks(l) embedded in ballistic material layers(2).
In fig 1 B-Bullet(3) coming towards hook surface (1).
In fig 1 C- Bullet (3) strikes on hook(l ) surface at that time hooks bent in same direction of bullet(3) which absorbs & resists the impact of the bullet wherein hooks work as a spring .
In fig 1 D- Bullet (3) goes away from the hook (1) surface in opposite direction due to high kinetic energy strikes on non.rigid hooks & it takes slippery action on hook surface and get deflected. Figure-2: In Fig-2A non rigid, ballistic material hooks (1) embedded in ballistic material layers (2), putting on one another as its applicability to increase the strength of ballistic guard.
In Fig-2B non rigid hooks (IA) having height more than (IB) embedded on ballistic material layers (2) put on one another to increase the strength of ballistic guard as its applicability.
In fig 2C non-rigid hooks (IA) having height more than (IB) embedded on ballistic material layer (2) fitted rigid material plate (3).
Figure-3: Non-rigid ballistic material hook (IA) is greater than hook (IB) coated both with Teflon (4) embedded on ballistic material layers (2) fitted on rigid material plate (3).
When bullet or projectiles striking on hooks (IA) the surface of Teflon coating resist the impact& helps to slippery action of bullet or projectile. It is also rust resist& weather resist.
