コンテンツ記録装置及びコンテンツ記録システム
　本発明は、コピープロテクションのかかったコンテンツを記録メディアに記録するコンテンツ記録装置及びコンテンツ記録システムに関する。
　以前は、記録型DVDディスクにCSS（Content Scrambling System）によるスクランブル(暗号化処理)されたデータを記録することは、CSSコンプライアンスルールによって禁止されてきた。しかし、最近はコンプライアンスルールが変更され、「CSS Managed Recording」（http://www.rwppi.com/css_mr/index-j.html参照）や「CPRM（Content Protection for Recordable Media）Managed Recording」等の規格が生まれ、CSS等のコピープロテクションのかかったコンテンツをダウンロード等によって入手可能となった。このため、従来、DVD-Videoディスクの形態で販売されてきた映画タイトルや、DVD-Videoディスクとなっていないドラマ等は、上記規格を用いたダウンロードによる市場拡大が期待されている。
　CSS等のコピープロテクションのかかったコンテンツをダウンロードするDVD-Download規格を利用したビジネスモデルとして、ＭＯＤ（Manufacturing On Demand）及びＥＳＴ（Electric Sell Through）の２つの形態が考えられている。ＭＯＤでは、ユーザが店舗等に接地された装置を用いて、所望するコンテンツをインターネット経由でダウンロードし、当該装置を用いてコピープロテクションのかかったＤＶＤディスクを作製する。また、ＥＳＴでは、ユーザが家庭のＰＣやセット・トップ・ボックス（ＳＴＢ）、ＤＶＤレコーダを用いて、所望するコンテンツをインターネット経由でダウンロードし、家庭にあるこれらの機器を用いてコピープロテクションのかかったＤＶＤディスクを作製する。
　図７は、ＭＯＤ形式のDVD-Download規格を利用したシステムを示すブロック図である。図７に示すように、コンテンツメーカー等の配信サーバ１０は、映画等のマスタソース１１がオーサリング部１３によってオーサリングされたコンテンツ１５を配信する。ユーザは、店舗等に設置された記録装置２０を用いて、配信サーバ１０からインターネットを介してコンテンツ１５をダウンロードする。ダウンロードが完了すると、記録装置２０のコピープロテクション部２１が、ダウンロードしたコンテンツにコピープロテクションをかけ、記録装置２０のデータ書込部２３が、DVD-Download規格に対応したＤＶＤディスク２５にコピープロテクションされたデータを書き込むことによって、一般のＤＶＤプレイヤーで再生可能なＤＶＤディスクが作製される。
　図８は、ＥＳＴ形式のDVD-Download規格を利用したシステムを示すブロック図である。図８に示すように、コンテンツメーカー等の配信サーバ１０は、映画等のマスタソース１１がオーサリング部１３によってオーサリングされたコンテンツ１５を配信する。ユーザは、家庭にあるＰＣやＳＴＢ、ＤＶＤレコーダ等（以下「家庭内機器」という。）３０を用いて、配信サーバ１０からインターネット及びインターネットサービスプロバイダ（ＩＳＰ）１９を介してコンテンツ１５をダウンロードする。ダウンロードが完了すると、家庭内機器３０のコピープロテクション部３１が、ダウンロードしたコンテンツにコピープロテクションをかけ、家庭内機器３０のデータ書込部３３が、DVD-Download規格に対応したＤＶＤディスク２５にコピープロテクションされたデータを書き込むことによって、一般のＤＶＤプレイヤーで再生可能なＤＶＤディスクが作製される。

　以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照して説明する。
（第１の実施形態）
　第１の実施形態は、ＭＯＤ形式のDVD-Download規格を利用したシステムである。図１は、本発明に係る第１の実施形態のＭＯＤ形式ＤＶＤダウンロードシステムを示すブロック図である。なお、図１において、図７と共通する構成要素には同じ参照符号が付されている。
　図１に示すように、第１の実施形態のＭＯＤ形式ＤＶＤダウンロードシステムでは、コンテンツメーカー等の配信サーバ１００と、店舗等に設置された記録装置２００とがインターネットを介して通信可能に接続されている。配信サーバ１００は、映画等のマスタソース１１がオーサリング部１３によってオーサリングされたコンテンツ（以下「元コンテンツ」という。）１０５を配信する。本実施形態の記録装置２００は、一般ユーザや店舗の販売員等（以下、単に「ユーザ」という。）によって利用され、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３と、コピープロテクション部２１と、データ書込部２３とを備える。なお、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３及びコピープロテクション部２１は、所定のプログラムを実行することによって機能するＣＰＵやＤＳＰ等によって実現される。
　ユーザは、記録装置２００を用いて、所望のコンテンツを配信サーバ１００にリクエストして、配信サーバ１００から元コンテンツ１０５をダウンロードする。なお、当該リクエスト時には、記録装置２００の設置場所に関する情報が配信サーバ１００に送られる。ダウンロードが完了すると、コピープロテクション部２１が元コンテンツにコピープロテクションをかける前に、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３が、宣伝等の映像・音声コンテンツ（以下「追加コンテンツ」という。）２０１をダウンロードした元コンテンツに統合するためのオーサリングを行う。なお、コピープロテクションをかける元コンテンツは、ユーザからのリクエストに応じてダウンロードされたものに限らず、既にダウンロードされたコンテンツであっても良い。
　本実施形態におけるオーサリング方法としては、DVD規格における元コンテンツのFP_PGC（First Play Program Chain）内のナビゲーションコマンドに着目する。第１の実施例としては、図２に示すように、元コンテンツ１０５のFP_PGC内のナビゲーションコマンド（PreCommand３０１，PostCommand３０２）にJumpTT（タイトルドメインへの移動コマンド）３０３が記載されている場合、追加コンテンツ２０１を１つのタイトルとして追加し、JumpTT３０３によって示される移動先を追加コンテンツ２０１のタイトルに変更する。当該処理を行えば、ＤＶＤの初期再生で追加コンテンツ２０１が再生されるようになる。
　さらに、追加コンテンツ２０１のFP_PGC内のPostCommand３０７には、元コンテンツ１０５のFP_PGC内に記載されていた変更前のJumpTTを追加する。当該処理を行えば、追加コンテンツ２０１の再生後に、元コンテンツ１０５で最初に再生するはずであったセクション３０４の再生が行われる。
　第２の実施例としては、図３に示すように、元コンテンツ１０５のFP_PGC内のナビゲーションコマンド（PreCommand３０１，PostCommand３０２）にJumpSS（メニューへの遷移コマンド）４０１が記載されている場合、追加コンテンツ２０１を１つのタイトルとして追加し、JumpSS４０１を追加コンテンツ２０１のタイトルへの移動コマンドであるJumpTT４０３に変更する。当該処理を行えば、ＤＶＤの初期再生で追加コンテンツ２０１が再生されるようになる。
　さらに、追加コンテンツ２０１のFP_PGC内のPostCommand３０７には、元コンテンツ１０５のFP_PGC内に記載されていたJumpSS４０１と同一パラメータのCallSS４０４を記載する。当該処理を行なえば、追加コンテンツ２０１の再生後に、元コンテンツ１０５で最初に行うはずであったメニュー４０５への遷移が行われる。
　記録装置２００のコピープロテクション部２１は、第１の実施例又は第２の実施例によってオーサリングされたコンテンツ（以下「統合コンテンツ」という。）２０５にコピープロテクションをかける。また、データ書込部２３は、DVD-Download規格に対応した空のＤＶＤディスク２５にコピープロテクションされたデータを書き込む。このようにして、ユーザがコンテンツをダウンロードした時期や場所、ダウンロードされる元コンテンツの内容、コンテンツメーカーによる販売戦略等に応じた追加コンテンツ２０１を元コンテンツ１０５に統合した統合コンテンツ２０５にコピープロテクションをかけたＤＶＤディスクを作製することができる。例えば、ダウンロード要求を受けた元コンテンツが昔の映画であっても、最新の映画公開予告を追加コンテンツとして統合することができる。
　なお、上記構成とは異なる形態として、図１の点線に示すように、配信サーバ１０はマスタソース１１を記録装置２００に送信しても良い。この場合、記録装置２００のコンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３は、配信サーバ１０から送信されたマスタソースに追加コンテンツ２０１を統合するためのオーサリングを行う。
　また、上記構成とは異なる形態として、図４に示すように、配信サーバ１００は、インターネットを介して配信する元コンテンツ又はマスタソースにコピープロテクションをかけても良い。但し、この場合、記録装置２００は、追加コンテンツ２０１をダウンロードした元コンテンツ又はマスタソースに統合する前に、当該元コンテンツ又はマスタソースのコピープロテクションの解除をせずに追加オーサリング２０１の追加が可能か否かを判断し、コピープロテクションの解除が必要であれば、ダウンロードした元コンテンツ又はマスタソースのコピープロテクションを解除する。
　なお、本実施形態では、記録装置２００がコンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３を備えているが、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部２０３は記録装置２００の外部に設けても良い。
（第２の実施形態）
　第２の実施形態は、ＥＳＴ形式のDVD-Download規格を利用したシステムである。図５は、本発明に係る第２の実施形態のＥＳＴ形式ＤＶＤダウンロードシステムを示すブロック図である。なお、図５において、図８と共通する構成要素には同じ参照符号が付されている。
　図５に示すように、第２の実施形態のＥＳＴ形式ＤＶＤダウンロードシステムでは、コンテンツメーカー等の配信サーバ１００と、家庭にあるＰＣやＳＴＢ、ＤＶＤレコーダ等の家庭内機器３０と、インターネットサービスプロバイダ（ＩＳＰ）３００とがインターネットを介して通信可能に接続されている。なお、ＩＳＰ３００と一般企業等も、追加コンテンツ２０１の送受信のためにインターネットを介して通信可能に接続されている。本実施形態のＩＳＰ３００は、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部３０１を備える。
　ユーザが、家庭内機器３０を用いて、所望のコンテンツのダウンロードをＩＳＰ３００を介して配信サーバ１０にリクエストすると、配信サーバ１０は、元コンテンツ１０５をＩＳＰ３００に送信する。なお、当該リクエスト時は、ユーザＩＤ及びパスワード等の情報に基づいてＩＳＰ３００へのアクセスが完了した上で行われる。ＩＳＰ３００は、各ユーザの年齢や性別、居住地等に関する情報を有し、どのユーザからのリクエストによるものかを認識することができる。
　ＩＰＳ３００のコンテンツ統合オーサリング部３０１は、配信サーバ１０から受け取った元コンテンツに追加コンテンツ２０１を統合するためのオーサリングを行う。なお、コンテンツ統合オーサリング部３０１が行うオーサリングは、第１の実施形態で説明した第１の実施例又は第２の実施例のオーサリング方法と略同様である。また、追加コンテンツ２０１は、マスタソース１１の制作会社以外の企業による宣伝であっても良い。さらに、ＩＳＰ３００は、コンテンツのダウンロードを行った時期やユーザの趣向等に応じて、異なる追加コンテンツを選択してオーサリングを行っても良い。
　ＩＳＰ３００は、元コンテンツに追加コンテンツ２０１を統合した統合コンテンツ３０３を、家庭内機器３０に送信する。家庭内機器３０のコピープロテクション部３１は、ＩＳＰ３００から送信された統合コンテンツにコピープロテクションをかけ、家庭内機器３０のデータ書込部３３は、DVD-Download規格に対応した空のＤＶＤディスク２５にコピープロテクションされたデータを書き込む。このようにして、ユーザがコンテンツをダウンロードした時期や場所、ダウンロードされる元コンテンツの内容、ユーザの趣向等に応じた追加コンテンツ２０１を元コンテンツ１０５に統合した統合コンテンツ３０３にコピープロテクションをかけたＤＶＤディスクを作製することができる。
　なお、上記構成とは異なる形態として、図５の点線に示すように、配信サーバ１０はマスタソース１１をＩＳＰ３００に送信しても良い。この場合、ＩＳＰ３００のコンテンツ統合オーサリング部３０１は、配信サーバ１０から送信されたマスタソースに追加コンテンツ２０１を統合するためのオーサリングを行う。
　以上説明した第１の実施形態及び第２の実施形態では、追加コンテンツ２０１として、宣伝等の映像・音声コンテンツを例に説明したが、ネットワークを介してダウンロード可能な宣伝等の映像・音声コンテンツへのリンク情報であっても良い。この場合、ＤＶＤ再生装置でＤＶＤディスクを再生したとき、当該ＤＶＤ再生装置は、追加コンテンツ２０１であるリンク情報に基づいて、ネットワークを介してコンテンツをダウンロードして再生する。なお、一度ダウンロードしたコンテンツをＤＶＤ再生装置に蓄積しておけば、次回再生する際に、再びダウンロードする必要はない。
　また、第１の実施形態及び第２の実施形態では、記録装置２００のデータ書込部２３又は家庭内機器３０のデータ書込部３３が、空のＤＶＤディスク２５にコピープロテクションされたデータを書き込むと説明したが、既にコピープロテクションがかかっている空のＤＶＤディスクに統合コンテンツを書き込んでも良い。例えば、記録装置２００は、統合コンテンツに対して一部コピープロテクションをかけ、当該統合コンテンツをコピープロテクションがかかっている空のＤＶＤディスクに書き込むことで、統合コンテンツを再生可能なコピープロテクションのかかったディスクの作成を実現できる。または、統合コンテンツをコピープロテクションがかかっている空のＤＶＤディスクに書き込むことで、統合コンテンツを再生可能なコピープロテクションのかかったディスクの作成を実現できる。
　また、第１の実施形態及び第２の実施形態では、追加コンテンツ２０１の数については特に言及せずに説明を行ったが、追加コンテンツ２０１には少なくとも１つのコンテンツが含まれていれば良い。また、複数の追加コンテンツの中から１つ又は複数の追加コンテンツを選択し、選択した追加コンテンツを元コンテンツと統合しても良い。追加コンテンツの選択基準としては、例えば、データを書き込むＤＶＤディスクの記憶容量や、追加コンテンツ及び元コンテンツの合計データサイズ、元コンテンツの内容、コンテンツのダウンロード要求を行ったユーザの性別や年齢、居住地等が考えられる。
　さらに、図６に示すように、コンテンツメーカー等は、コンテンツだけでなく、ＤＶＤディスクの表面に印刷するラベル画像のデータもコンテンツと共に配信することがある。この場合、ラベル画像１５１と追加画像２５１を合成して、合成画像２５３をＤＶＤディスク２５の表面に印刷しても良い。
　本発明を詳細にまた特定の実施態様を参照して説明したが、本発明の精神と範囲を逸脱することなく様々な変更や修正を加えることができることは当業者にとって明らかである。
　本出願は、2008年2月22日出願の日本特許出願（特願2008－041279）に基づくものであり、その内容はここに参照として取り込まれる。
　本発明に係るコンテンツ記録装置及びコンテンツ記録システムは、追加コンテンツを元コンテンツに統合した統合コンテンツをコピープロテクションをかけて記録メディアに記録することが可能であり、DVD-Download販売等の新たなビジネスモデル等として有用である。また、将来のコピープロテクション付き記録メディア販売の用途にも応用することができる。

Claims (9)

  1. 　通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに異なるコンテンツを追加してオーサリングを行うオーサリング部と、
    　前記オーサリング部によってオーサリングされた統合コンテンツにコピープロテクションをかけるコピープロテクション部と、
    　前記コピープロテクション部によってコピープロテクションがかけられた統合コンテンツを記録メディアに書き込む書込部と、
    を備えたことを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
  2. 　通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに異なるコンテンツを追加してオーサリングを行うオーサリング部を有する第１の装置と、
    　前記オーサリング部によってオーサリングされた統合コンテンツにコピープロテクションをかけるコピープロテクション部と、前記コピープロテクション部によってコピープロテクションがかけられた統合コンテンツを記録メディアに書き込む書込部と、を有する第２の装置と、
    を備えたことを特徴とするコンテンツ記録システム。
  3. 　通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに異なるコンテンツを追加してオーサリングを行うオーサリング部と、
    　コピープロテクションがプリライトされている記録メディアに、前記オーサリング部によってオーサリングされた統合コンテンツを書き込む書込部と、
    を備えたことを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
  4. 　請求項１又は３に記載のコンテンツ記録装置であって、
    　前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに追加されるコンテンツがリンク情報であることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
  5. 　請求項２に記載のコンテンツ記録システムであって、
    　前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに追加されるコンテンツがリンク情報であることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録システム。
  6. 　請求項１又は３に記載のコンテンツ記録装置であって、
    　前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに追加されるコンテンツが、複数のコンテンツの中から選択された少なくとも１つのコンテンツであることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
  7. 　請求項２に記載のコンテンツ記録システムであって、
    　前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツに追加されるコンテンツが、複数のコンテンツの中から選択された少なくとも１つのコンテンツであることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録システム。
  8. 　請求項１又は３に記載のコンテンツ記録装置であって、
    　前記オーサリング部は、前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツの移動先情報の変更及び追加と、コンテンツの追加と、追加コンテンツが再生された後に移動先情報の追加とを行うことを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
  9. 　請求項２に記載のコンテンツ記録システムであって、
    　前記オーサリング部は、前記通信ネットワークを介して外部から得られたコンテンツの移動先情報の変更及び追加と、コンテンツの追加と、追加コンテンツが再生された後に移動先情報の追加とを行うことを特徴とするコンテンツ記録システム。
