Abstract

 金属塩と金属粉との混合物から金属粉成分を分離する金属の製造方法において、製造に必要なエネルギーを低減することが可能な金属の製造方法を提供する。  金属塩と金属粉の混合物1を、スキマー11によって区分された第1のハース10の原料投入領域12に供給し、プラズマ19aを用いて金属塩の融点以上金属粉の融点未満に加熱、保持し、上層(金属塩が溶融した溶融塩2)と、下層(金属粉の濃度の高まった高濃度固液混合物3)の2層を形成する。そして、上層の溶融塩2を第1のハースの上部の排出口から、下層の高濃度固液混合物3を下層排出口14から排出する。続いて、高濃度固液混合物3を、金属粉の融点以上に加熱、保持し、高濃度固液混合物3中の金属粉を溶融させて溶融金属とし、上層(溶融塩4)と下層(溶融金属5)を形成し、溶融塩4から溶融金属5を分離し、溶融金属5を凝固させインゴット6とする。
