Abstract

Intended is to suppress the occurrences of an ink flying from an ink roller by the excess ink left in the excess ink residing area of a cylindrical rotor during a printing operation and an ink piling on a blanket drum. Provided is an excess printing ink eliminating device having an excess ink sucking unit. This excess ink sucking unit is constituted to include a roller device having a roller, which is contacted and rotated by such an excess ink residing area of a cylindrical rotor (1) for applying ink to a sheet of printing paper as is composed of a rotor end portion (1a) exceeding a used paper width (W) and/or a rotor portion (1b) confronting the non-line portion of a considerably wide platen, thereby to eliminate the excess ink, and a roller cleaning device for removing the excess ink transferred to the roller surface.
