Abstract

An L-amino acid is produced by culturing a bacterium belonging to the Enterobacter family, which is capable of producing the L-amino acid and has been modified to repress the expression of one or more genes selected from among ydcU, yfeK, smpA, htrG, adiC, htrA, ydhK, bacA, yaiW and yidQ, in a medium, thus accumulating the L-amino acid in the medium and then harvesting the L-amino acid from the medium.
