Abstract

An electric double layer capacitor comprises: a cell including a pair of electrodes for sandwiching a separator; upper and lower collector electrode plates for, after a plurality of the cells are stacked, sandwiching the cells from both the upper and lower surfaces; upper and lower insulating plates for sandwiching the upper and lower collector electrode plates from both the upper and lower surfaces; top and bottom end plates for sandwiching the upper and lower insulating plates from both the upper and lower surfaces; an insulating spacer disposed between the top and bottom end plates and having a structure having a non-through hole; and a fastening screw penetrating the top and bottom end plates and joined to the insulating spacer.
