Abstract

 波長変換装置は、2000nm以下の波長を有する基本波を出射する赤外光光源(1)と、周期状の分極反転構造を有する非線形光学結晶からなり、赤外光光源(1)から出射される基本波を高調波に変換する波長変換素子(3)と、波長変換素子(3)を加熱するヒーター(4)とを備える。分極反転構造の周期は、基本波と高調波とが擬似位相整合する温度が40℃以上になるように設計されており、ヒーター(4)は、擬似位相整合が成立する温度に波長変換素子(3)を加熱し、非線形光学結晶は、Mg、In、Zn及びScの少なくともいずれかの添加物を有するニオブ酸リチウムまたはタンタル酸リチウムを主成分とする。これにより、光損傷を抑圧することができるとともに、紫外光による可視光の吸収を低減することができる。
