Abstract

 互いに対向して配置された一対の基板と、一対の基板の間に設けられた液晶層と、一対の基板を互いに接着すると共に液晶層を封入するための枠状のシール材(25)とを備えた液晶表示パネル(50a)であって、一方の基板の液晶層及びシール材(25)の間には、上端が他方の基板に密着して内部に中空領域(C)を形成するための中空形成壁(18ba)が設けられ、中空領域(C)は、液晶層を構成する液晶材料が過剰に封入されたときに、中空形成壁(18ba)を破壊することにより、液晶材料の一部が流入するように構成されている。
