Abstract

【構成】回転軸に摺動接触するシールリップの大気側摺動面にねじを設けた密封装置であって、前記シールリップの大気側摺動面を、シールリップ先端を通り該リップが摺動接触する部材の表面から大気側に向かうにしたがって離れる方向の大きな曲線で形成し、リップ先端から該リップ先端から遠い所要位置に形成された所定高さの隆起部までの間を連繋して断面三角形状のねじを形成し、該ねじのねじ山の稜線を直線状に形成し、ねじ山の高さをリップ先端より離れるにしたがって徐々に高くなるように構成したねじ部を前記大気側摺動面に形成したこと。 【効果】ねじ山の稜線が直線状となっているため、軸とシールリップ間の空間を保持することができ、そのため進入したダストをシールリップ先端の接触部に誘導する危険性を抑制することができ、シールリップに対するダストの噛み込みによる漏洩が防止できる。
