本発明の表示装置用照明装置12は、複数の線状光源17と、前記線状光源17を保持する光源保持部材20と、を備え、前記光源保持部材20は、第1部材30と第2部材40とを有し、前記第1部材30と前記第2部材40との間には、これら第1部材30と第2部材40とを互いに平行移動させるためのスライド機構50が設けられ、前記第1部材30は、前記複数の線状光源17のうち第1線状光源17aを直接保持する第1光源保持部32を備える一方、前記第2部材40は、前記第1線状光源17aとは異なる第2線状光源17bを直接保持する第2光源保持部42を備えることを特徴とする。
