Abstract

Provided is a video distribution device distributes video to a reception device by communication or broadcast. The video distribution device includes: thumbnail distribution means which correlates a plurality of thumbnail data generated from the video data with a plurality of generated text data from caption data accompanying the video on a time axis and distributes them to the reception device in advance; request reception means which receives from the reception device, a video distribution request containing the time information on text data selected from the text data displayed on the reception device; video distribution means which identifies a distribution start position of the video data according to the time information and distributes the video data to be distributed upon reception of the distribution request; and processing means which executes a predetermined process on a particular portion of the video data to be distributed by the video distribution means.
