Abstract

A power cord which can prevent firing, fire, or other troubles caused by overheating of a plug. During power supply wherein a plug (2) of a power cord (1) is put in the wall outlet (A) to supply current to a load device (8) from the wall outlet (A), the temperature of a front end face of the plug (2) is detected by a thermistor (6) incorporated in a core (5). Based on the detection signal output from the thermistor (6), it is judged by a current breaker (7) whether or not the front end face of the plug (2) is at a predetermined temperature or below. When the temperature of the front end face of the plug (2) is judged at the predetermined temperature or above, supply of current to the load device (8) from the wall outlet (A) is cut off by the current breaker (7). On the other hand, when the temperature of the front end face of the plug (2) is judged at the predetermined temperature or below, the supply of the current to the load device (8) from the wall outlet (A) is continued without cutting it off by the current breaker (7).
