　被検体の肺領域を含む断層像を取得する画像取得手段に接続され、前記画像取得手段によって取得された断層像を画像として表示する画像表示手段を備えた画像支援診断装置であって、 　前記画像中から胸壁を抽出するための計測範囲を設定する計測範囲設定手段と、前記設定された計測範囲内で前記画像中から胸壁を抽出する胸壁抽出手段と、前記計測範囲内で胸壁に付随する肥厚部を抽出する肥厚部抽出手段と、前記肥厚部の厚さを前記計測範囲の各位置において計測する肥厚部厚計測手段とを備える。
