Abstract
Disclosed is a method for hydrolyzing plant biomasses regardless of the type and origin by means of highly concentrated acids, primarily hydrogen chloride. Said method is characterized in that the actual hydrolysis is preceded by a preliminary treatment of the biomass with hydrogen chloride at a concentration ranging from 15 to 25 percent such that the biomass does not have to be dried.
