Abstract

A label for in-mold molding that by virtue of specified plasma treatment conducted on a heat seal layer of label, excels in water resistance, chemical resistance and durability and further excels in the strength of adhesion to molded articles of not only a nonpolar resin but also a polar resin, such as polyethylene terephthalate; and a blow molded article having this label for in-mold molding attached thereto. There is disclosed a label for in-mold molding applicable to blow molded articles consisting of various thermoplastic resins, characterized in that the label has a laminate resin film including a heat seal layer and a base layer, the heat seal layer satisfying the following requirements that: (i) plasma treatment be carried out under a pressure close to atmospheric pressure, and after bonding of the label for in-mold molding to blow molded article, the strength of adhesion between the blow molded article and the label in any of dry state, waterproof adhesion and oilproof adhesion range from 200 to 500 gf/15mm; (ii) the surface roughness be in the range of 1 to 10 μm in terms of three-dimensional central surface average roughness (SRa); and (iii) a thermoplastic resin of 60° to 130°C melting point be contained.
