Abstract

The purpose is to provide a substrate which has a reduced reflectivity and which also has an increased light transmission rate and therefore has improved optical properties, by employing a simple method applicable regardless of the material or shape of the substrate. A reflectivity-reducing agent comprising carbon and/or a thermally degradable organic compound and titanium oxide and/or an inorganic silicon compound is applied on the surface of a light-transmissive substrate and then heated to render the substrate highly light-transmissive.
