Abstract
This invention is a personal ski gear (skis and poles) carrier. It enables the skier to carry his gear in a very comfortable, safe and unencumbered manner - inside and outside of the ski site, as well as allowing it to be installed on a standard large-sized ski bag. This invention relies upon two short sleeves that connect to the two edges of the ski gear, with an adjustable carrying strap connecting the two sleeves. A removable two-wheel device attached to the back sleeve enables the skier to wheel the gear. The invention enables the skier to carry the gear in multiple carrying options, such as carrying the gear on either shoulder. By using the wheel device the skier can wheel the gear, an option that greatly reduces the weight of the gear. This invention is extremely user friendly. It is compact and can be stored in multiple places, such as the skier's pocket, a belt or within a backpack.
Description
COMPACT SKI CARRIER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a device for carrying skis and poles, and more particularly, relates to a personal ski gear (skis and poles) carrier with a removable wheel device, which enables the skier to carry his gear via multiple carrying options.
Background Art
Skiing as a recreational sport has become increasingly popular worldwide. Millions of ski enthusiasts travel long distances annually to world renowned ski resorts.
Most skiers carry heavy ski equipment while wearing ski boots when walking to the ski site. This may cause considerable discomfort to the skier as well as endangering people around him.
This situation has created the need for a compact ski carrier product to carry the ski equipment more easily and safely inside the ski site.
There are several types of ski gear carriers on the market, some of which have been patented. Most of these products have numerous shortcomings and are a source of discomfort to the skier.
1. Large ski bags :
These ski bags are used mostly for carrying skiers' personal gear from home to the ski site. Their size creates a storage problem at the ski site, causing considerable discomfort for the skier.
2. Straps:
Short straps have numerous drawbacks, primarily with the two unstable connecting points to the gear as well as with the bindings that tend to hit against the skier's thigh.
3. Back Packs:
Carrying the gear on your back via backpack is uncomfortable, as is taking it on and off.
4. Hand Carrier:
Carrying the gear is uncomfortable, since the gear is not stable and tends to quickly tire the skier. 5. Wheel Devices:
Wheel devices on the market are limited to flat geographic areas. Physical conditions within any terrain may change and thus prevent skiers from wheeling their gear or carrying it on their shoulder in a comfortable manner.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention offers solutions to all the drawbacks of existing carriers. It is an innovative product that stands to benefit skiers worldwide.
The present invention relies upon two short sleeves that connect to the two edges of the ski gear and enable the carrying of the skis and poles together (fig. 4, fig. 5).
Therefore the present invention is extremely convenient to handle.
Its wheel device enables skiers to wheel or carry their ski gear, via multiple carrying options:
1.Wheeling the gear on the wheels by wearing the carrying strap on the shoulder ( fig. 6A).
2. Wheeling the gear on the wheels by pulling the gear with a short strap ( fig. 7B).
3. Carrying the gear on either shoulders when the terrain doesn't allow you to wheel it ( fig. 7 A, fig. 6B).
The present invention enables the skier multiple carrying options not found in any ski carrier to date. The present invention includes a wheel device with two independent wheels, which reduce the weight of the gear when wheeled by the skier. The two-wheel device creates stability and
efficiency when wheeling the gear on different terrains .
The wheel device can be removed in areas where wheeling the gear is not an option.
The present invention can be worn on a standard large ski bag ( fig. 9A,9B), affording the skier all the multiple carrying options as well. This option can be used by skiers who transport their own gear via car, train, airplane, etc. The present invention is compact, light and user friendly. The present invention meets the needs of skiers of all ages and of varying height and weight.
The present invention's unique features did not exist prior to the development of this invention. Brief Description of Drawings

Best mode for carrying out the invention
The present invention enables the skier to carry his gear in a very comfortable, safe and unencumbered manner inside the ski site. The invention enables the skier to carry the gear in multiple carrying options, and is very user friendly. The invention can suit a skier carrying his personal gear inside a ski site (Fig. 6,7,8) as well as can be adapted to a standard large ski bag for carrying the ski gear on all means of public transportation
(Fig .9A,9B).
The invention includes:
1. Two short sleeves 1,6 (Fig.1 ) made of water proof fabric or from rigid material like hard plastic:
Ia. Back sleeve (Fig. 2): Placed on the back edge of the skis.
Includes a pole carrier 7 for the lower side of the poles. The pole carrier can be made by fabric or rubber straps or by any kind of rigid material.
The back sleeve includes also a removable two-wheel device
3(Fig.l).
The wheel device can be made in different ways, for example:
The wheel device can be made like an axis with two wheels or like a rigid palette ( made of rigid material like plastic or metal ) with two independent wheels. The wheels can be installed with a device that enables them to be open or closed according to the skier needs (horizontal or vertical position to the back sleeve).
The removable wheel device is attached to the back sleeve for example with Velcro tapes, and can be removed from the back sleeve according to the skier's needs. Ib. Front sleeve (Fig.3A,3B): a wider sleeve than the back sleeve placed on the front edge of the skis. The front sleeve has zippers 11 to adjust the front sleeve to the skis. It also has a short carrying strap 10 enabling the skier to pull the gear when wheeling it.
2. A long adjustable carrying strap 2 (Fig. 1) could be made by different waterproof fabric straps, enabling the skier to carry the gear in multiple carrying options: wheeling the gear using the long carrying strap or the short carrying strap, carrying the gear on either shoulder. (Fig. 6,7,8).
3. Thin adjustable strap 4 (Fig. 1) connecting two sleeves can be made of different waterproof fabric strap and secured so that none of the sleeves disconnect from the skis while carrying them.
A short adjustable strap 5 (Fig. 1 ) to adjust the upper side of the poles to the skis, is connected to the upper side of the thin strap.
Industrial Applicability
Inside the ski site: The skier puts the back edges of the skis into the back sleeve 1 and adjusts the adjustable strap 8.
The skier puts the front edges of the skis into the front sleeve
6.
The skier adjusts the sleeve to the skis using the adjustable strap and zippers 12,11.
The skier connects the two sleeves using the thin adjustable strap 4. This strap prevents the disconnection of either of the sleeves from the skis while carrying the gear.
The skier installs the poles in the pole carrier 7 in the back sleeve as well as adjusts the Adjustable strap 5 for the poles in the upper side of the poles.
The skier adjusts the length of the carrying strap 2 : a. For wheeling the gear using the carrying strap - using a long carrying strap (Fig. 6A). b. For carrying on either shoulder - using a shorter carrying strap (Fig.όB, Fig .7A ). c. For wheeling the gear by using the short carrying strap of the front sleeve - a very short carrying strap (Fig. 7B).
The skier can install or put away the wheel device as he wishes, or in accordance with terrain conditions.
After installing the present invention on the gear the skier can carry his gear via any of the carrying options in a safe and comfortable manner.
When the skier doesn't use the invention, it can folded into the front sleeve, which becomes a compact storage bag for the entire product. The skier can carry the invention when not in use in varying places - his pocket, a belt or within a backpack.
Inside an airport or a train or bus station, when using a standard large ski bag, the skier can install the invention on the large ski bag (Fig. 9A,9B).
