Abstract

An ozonized gas having a pressure exceeding atmospheric pressure and having a given concentration is fed to adsorption/desorption columns (4) which have been regulated so as to have a temperature as low as 0°C or below and an elevated pressure and packed with silica gel (6) serving as an adsorbent. The adsorption/desorption columns (4) have been constituted so that three or more of the adsorption/desorption columns (4), i.e., adsorption/desorption columns (4-1), (4-2), and (4-3), are disposed in a serial cycle arrangement to constitute a main adsorption/desorption column group (99), and that an adsorption/desorption column (4-4) is disposed in parallel with the main adsorption/desorption column group (99) to constitute a supplemental adsorption/desorption column (999). During the period when a desorption step is conducted in none of the three columns of the main adsorption/desorption column group (99), ozone is desorbed in the supplemental adsorption/desorption column (999). The apparatus can continuously output high-concentration ozone at a high flow rate. By thus efficiently yielding a high-concentration ozonized gas, the amount of the ozone capable of being output can be increased and the amount of a discharge gas which is not permitted to be output can be reduced. That efficient production enables the apparatus for high-concentration ozone gas production to be compact, satisfactorily operable, and inexpensive.
