Abstract

　十分な耐久性を具備するとともに、取付状態に関わらず優れた着火性を有する内燃機関用スパークプラグ及び当該スパークプラグの製造方法を提供する。スパークプラグ１は、中心電極５や接地電極２７等を備える。中心電極５の先端部に、中心電極用貴金属チップ３１が接合され、接地電極２７の中心電極側側面部２７ｓ１に、接地電極用貴金属チップ３２が接合される。接地電極用貴金属チップ３２は、その先端部３２ｔが接地電極２７の先端面２７ｔから０．１ｍｍ以上１．５ｍｍ以下突出し、その中心電極側の側面部３２ｓが中心電極側側面部２７ｓ１から０．１５ｍｍ以上０．６ｍｍ以下突出する。接地電極２７は、面取り部２７ｍ１～４を備え、面取り部２７ｍ１～４は、接地電極２７の中心軸ＣＬ２と直交する断面における、厚さ方向長さａ１，ａ２，ｃ１，ｃ２、及び、幅方向長さｂ１，ｂ２，ｄ１，ｄ２が０．２ｍｍ以上とされる。
