Abstract

 本発明の直視型の表示装置は、表示領域と前記表示領域の外側に形成された額縁領域(10F,20F)とを有する少なくとも1つの表示パネル(10)と、少なくとも1つの表示パネルの観察者側に所定の間隔をあけて配置された少なくとも1つのフレネルレンズ板(40)とを備える。フレネルレンズ板は、表示パネルの額縁領域の一部と、額縁領域の一部に第1の軸に沿って互いに隣接する表示領域内の周辺表示領域の一部とを含む領域に重なる位置にフレネルレンズ領域を有し、周辺表示領域の一部から出射された表示光の一部を、フレネルレンズ領域の内の、額縁領域の一部と重なる領域またはそれよりも外側の領域から観察者側に向けて出射する。本発明によると、従来よりも簡便で軽量な構造で、表示パネルの額縁領域あるいはタイリングした場合の継ぎ目が見え難い直視型の表示装置が提供される。
