Definitions
- the present invention relates to a water-conducting household appliance with a safety device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a water-conducting domestic appliance such as e.g. a dishwashing or washing machines, known, which has a safety device for leakage monitoring.
- the safety device comprises at least one triggerable by a float switching device for interrupting a water supply upon reaching a predetermined water level in a drip pan.
- the water-conducting household appliance according to EP 1 329 546 A1 has an access opening to the float, by means of which the switching device is designed to be triggered for testing purposes.
- the invention has for its object to provide for a water-bearing household appliance with a safety device whose functionality can be tested in a simple manner.
- the invention relates to a water-conducting household appliance, in particular dishwashing or washing machine, with a safety device with at least one triggerable by a float switching device for interrupting a water supply upon reaching a predetermined water level in a drip pan, and with an access opening to the float through which the switching device is designed to be triggered for testing purposes.
- the access opening is formed as an overflow, which limits an increase in the water level in the household appliance to a safety level, so that a discharge of leakage water can be carried out without the water level critical components, such as electric motors , can reach.
- the formation of the access opening as an overflow is also seeing simple manner a reliable function even with a tilted water-bearing household appliance achieved because the formed as an overflow access opening and the float are located immediately adjacent to each other and therefore can not accumulate due to the flow of water, which can not be detected by the safety device.
- operating noise is not transmitted via an open to the outside overflow unattenuated in the environment.
- the float is formed by means of a lifting operation from the outside through the access opening, the switching device for test purposes triggered det. Thereby, the float can be moved to a position for triggering the switching device for testing purposes by an operation from the outside via the access opening.
- This has the advantage that a functional test of the safety device can be performed without having to previously remove components of the household appliance, such as cladding or housing walls.
- it is also ensured that voltage-carrying electrical components remain inaccessible from outside the household appliance.
- the solution according to the invention therefore implements both an overflow and a test option. Ie. the float can be brought into a position triggering the switching device in a simple manner even if there is no leakage water in the collecting trough.
- the access opening of the overflow can be arranged below the float.
- the overflow generally has an opening with an overflow edge over which leakage water may leak out of the home appliance as soon as it exceeds a defined safety level.
- the safety level is to be determined depending on the structure of the household appliance, in such a way that it is ensured that in case of leakage of water in a leakage under no circumstances live electrical components get under the water surface. That it must be ensured that the water in the household appliance can not rise to more than a level below the lowest installed electrical component. In addition, leaking water must therefore be discharged via the overflow to the outside.
- the access opening can lie with a switch button of the switching device in a vertical alignment. This is particularly useful if an overflow nozzle exactly in the middle under the float and the switch button of the switching device is located.
- the nozzle can be provided for this purpose on the bottom of a pan tray of the household appliance and extending from this starting substantially vertically upwards.
- the switching device may for example be a conventional microswitch.
- the switching device is located in an imaginary extension directly above the tubular overflow pipe.
- a functional test can be done by the household appliance is tilted, for example, so that the bottom access opening is accessible from the outside. Subsequently, the float can be operated from the outside via the access opening. The float is in turn pressed against the switch button, so that the switching device is triggered. If the switching device is functional, then an interruption of the water supply can be perceived. Similarly, at best without the need for tilting of the household appliance, such a functional test is already possible after the manufacture of the household appliance as part of a general functional test during the manufacturing process by the manufacturer.
- the overflow may be formed as a particular tubular nozzle, which extends from the bottom of the tub tray to the top and the upper end forms the overflow edge.
- the upper end of the nozzle therefore defines the safety level.
- the tubular nozzle forms a drainage channel from the overflow edge to an outlet at the bottom of the tray, and at the same time the access opening.
- the tubular nozzle can be made in one piece with the drip pan in the plastic injection molding process.
- the overall height of the nozzle is adapted to the positions of the electrical components located in the household appliance so that no water can reach the electrical components even with a tilt of the household appliance of up to 2 degrees of angle to the horizontal safety level , This is important if it can not be ensured that the household appliance is set up and operated in an exactly horizontal plane. Particularly in the household sector, it is to be expected that the household appliance will be set up and operated at a level that deviates from the horizontal. It must also be ensured that the water level in the drip pan can not reach any electrical components.
- the float can be formed bell-shaped over the tubular overflow nozzle.
- the float covers the spigot and is spaced from the spigot by a radial distance, so that its lifting is not disturbed during a rise in the water level in the drip pan. At the same time, a sufficient free cross-section remains between the float and the tubular connection, which ensures that, in the event of overflowing of water beyond the safety level, it can flow out unhindered to the outside. Since the float covers the overflow, a sound shielding is achieved, so that operating noise of the household appliance can escape only attenuated to the outside.
- the approximately bell-shaped float designed to have a bottom-side recess with an inner jacket wall.
- the recess may be formed slightly larger than the outer shell wall of the tubular nozzle to form a vertical guide of the float at the overflow.
- the float is guided in a lifting movement along the tubular nozzle and can deflect laterally only limited, for example, when a certain water level is reached in the drip pan and the float floats on the water surface.
- the nozzle thus forms a lateral guide for the float, so that separate guides for the float can be omitted.
- the float to improve noise reduction may have a disc-shaped base section, which rests on a sound absorbing surface in a dry drip tray on the bottom of the tub. With an arrangement of the nozzle centrally under the float this is covered by the float from above. Thus, noise can penetrate only damped over the overflow to the outside.
- the disc-shaped foot portion of the float over a large area rests on the bottom of the tub tray, a kind of gap seal is produced, which seals the overflow opening and the access opening sound-absorbing.
- a proposal for an inventive method for functional testing of a safety device of a household appliance during the manufacturing process comprising the following steps: First, a pin-shaped tool is inserted into the tubular nozzle of the bottom overflow. Then, a lifting takes place by means of the tool the float from the outside via the access opening of the tubular nozzle. Thus, it becomes possible to trigger the switching device of the safety device by the manual lifting operation, the lifting of the float.
- the functional test concludes with a positive result if, after triggering the safety switch, a water supply from the water supply network is interrupted.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a drip pan of a household appliance with a safety device according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of the safety device according to FIG. 1.
- a household appliance according to FIG. 1 has an only partially indicated housing 1 with a mounting base 3. On the mounting base 3 device units not shown are supported, d. H. in the case of a dishwasher, a washing container, a drain pump, etc.
- a collecting tray 5 is integrated for water leakage.
- the drip pan 5 is limited by a circumferential side wall 9.
- the collecting pan 5 has a funnel-like design and has four pan floor sections 7a, 7b, 7c and 7d, which are inclined slightly towards the center. At the lowest point of the trough bottom 7, a float 1 1 is mounted. Above the float 1 1, a switching device 13 is installed.
- FIG. 2 shows a partial cross section through the center of the drip pan 5.
- the drip pan 5 has a circular, planar bottom section 17 arranged centrally with respect to the central device vertical axis 15.
- the outer periphery of the circular bottom section 17 is adjoined by the tub bay sections 7a and 7c, which are inclined towards the center.
- an overflow 19 is arranged, which is formed in the present embodiment as a tubular overflow pipe.
- the overflow 19 is of the same material and in one piece with the molded here as a plastic injection molded part mounting base 3, and extends with its free overflow edge 21 vertically upwards.
- the free overflow edge 21 defines the safety level.
- the float 1 1 is disc-shaped with a central device vertical axis 15 centric, bottom-side recess 22 is formed.
- the recess 22 is designed as a hollow cylinder and bounded by a circumferential inner jacket wall 23.
- the inner jacket wall 23 of the float 1 1 is spaced according to FIG. 2 via a radial annular gap r of a cylindrical jacket wall 25 of the nozzle 19.
- the circular bottom portion 17 serves as a support surface for the float 11, which lies with its flat bottom over its entire surface on the bottom portion 17.
- the float 11 is slightly raised from the bottom section 17 only for reasons of clarity.
- the outer diameter di of the float 11 is smaller than the diameter d 2 of the circular bottom portion 17 dimensioned.
- the difference in diameter is designed so that despite a present on the basis of the radial gap r game of the float 11 in the lateral direction is always a full-surface edition of the float 1 1 is guaranteed.
- the float 1 1 can therefore not be supported with its outer edge on the inclined floor sections 7a to 7d.
- a truncated cone-shaped roof portion 33 is centrally formed, which limits the hollow cylindrical recess 22 upwards.
- the roof section 33 therefore completely covers the overflow edge 21 of the connecting piece 19.
- a dome-shaped switching cam 37 which is associated with a switching button 39 of the switching device 13.
- the switching button 39 is aligned with the switching cam 37 and the nozzle 19 along the device vertical axis 15th As soon as in the drip pan 5 accumulates in a device malfunction leaking water, the float floating on the water 11 moves upward, and actuates when a predetermined stroke exceeds the switching button 39 of the switching device 13th
- the switching device 13 For functional testing of the switching device 13 can be pressed in the direction of arrow I shown in Fig. 2 up through the bottom side open nozzle 19 by means of a tool against the bottom 26 of the recess 22 of the float 1 1. As a result, the float 11 also moves over a stroke upwards, whereby the float 1 1 for testing purposes in a simple manner, the switching device 13 can trigger.
