Abstract

Disclosed is an electric device which is driven by acquiring power from a fluorescent lamp by electromagnetic induction. The electric device estimates maximum power which can be acquired and controls operation in accordance with the estimated maximum power. A wireless communication section (A7) periodically performs wireless communication, and an acquired power estimating section measures the output voltage of a rectifying section (A3) for a fixed time. Then, a power acquiring section (A2) estimates power which can be acquired, by using the maximum value and the average value of the measured output voltages.
