Abstract
This invention provides an aggregate of a semiconductor nanoparticle phosphor which has been improved in biomolecule recognition performance by utilizing a photoresponsive material as a photoresponsive surface modifying agent, and a method for observing a single molecule using the aggregate of a semiconductor nanoparticle phosphor as a labeling agent. The aggregate of a semiconductor nanoparticle phosphor is characterized in that the surface of the aggregate is modified with the photoresponsive surface modifying agent.
