Abstract

The object is to diagnose the presence or absence of the occurrence of a fatty liver disease, the degree of progression of a fatty liver disease or the like in a simpler manner compared with conventional liver biopsies. Disclosed is a method for diagnosing a fatty liver disease, which comprises the steps of: analyzing at least one component selected from the group consisting of a chylomicron, a very-low-density lipoprotein, a chylomicron remnant and a very-low-density lipoprotein remnant contained in a sample derived from the blood collected from a subject; and determining the presence or absence of the occurrence of the fatty liver disease, the severity of the disease, or the therapeutic effect against the disease in the subject based on the results of the analysis.
