Abstract

 鉛を含まず、かつ切削性、鋳造性、機械特性等に優れた黄銅が開示されている。この黄銅は、結晶組織がα相とβ相との合計比率85%以上であり、Cuを55wt%以上75wt%未満、Biを0.3wt%以上4.0wt%以下、BおよびSiを、それぞれをywt%およびxwt%としたとき、0≦x≦2.0、0≦y≦0.3、およびy>-0.15x+0.015ab(ここで、aは、Biが0.3≦Bi<1wt%、1≦Bi<2wt%、2≦Bi≦4wt%の場合、それぞれ0.2、0.75、および1であり、bは、見かけ上のZn含有量が、37wt%以上39wt%未満及び39wt%以上41wt%未満であるとき1であり、41wt%以上43wt%未満及び43wt%以上45wt%以下であるとき0.75である)の関係を満足する量、そして残部が実質的にZnと不可避不純物からなることを特徴とする。
