[Best Mode]
Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the drawings attached hereinafter, wherein like numerals refer to like elements throughout. The embodiments are described below so as to explain the present invention by referring to the figures.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shower panel with a sporting outfit according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 1, the shower panel with a sporting outfit comprises a shower panel bar 13 to provide shower and a sporting outfit 16 to provide exercise.
The shower panel bar 13 is installed in a bathroom as a post with a predetermined height from the floor. Inside, pipes are equipped to supply hot and cold water, such that hot and/ or cold water can be supplied to a showerhead 10, which will be described later. Further, cables are equipped inside to supply power to an LED lighting 19, which will also be described later.
The installation of the pipes and/ or cables inside the shower panel bar can be performed by the methods well known in the art, without limitation. The sporting outfit 16 enables simple strengthening exercise of arms or shoulders. It is equipped at both sides of the shower panel bar 13, with only the handles 14 exposed.
The sporting outfit 16 comprises the handles 14 and wires 15 which are connected to the handles 15 and drawn out when the handles are pulled. The wires 15 are connected to an automatic winding apparatus (not shown in the figure) equipped inside the shower panel bar 13, such that they are drawn by the automatic winding apparatus when the pulling force applied to the handles 14 is removed.
Here, the automatic winding apparatus may be one employed in the commercially available arm exercise apparatuses with extendable cables. The sporting outfit 16 is provided at upper and lower portions of the shower panel bar, respectively. As such, a user can take exercise in various positions either standing or sitting. Also, a child or an old and/ or feeble person can easily use the sporting outfit by selecting one at a suitable height.
In addition to strengthening the muscles, the sporting outfit 16 may provide the effect of treating and/ or preventing stiff or frozen shoulders of, particularly, aged people.
Further, the sporting outfit provided by the present invention may comprise a digital means (sensor, counter, display panel, etc.) enabling the user to check the amount of exercise. Particularly, the handles 15 of the sporting outfit 16 are held in the accommodation space 21 equipped at both sides of the shower panel bar 13 (only the handgrips are exposed). Therefore, the shower panel bar 13 has a smooth outline, and it seems as if the sporting outfit does not exist when the user does not use the sporting outfit. Consequently, the sporting outfit neither impairs the fine view of the shower panel bar itself or the bathroom, nor interferes with the user's movement. And, the shower panel bar 13 is equipped with a showerhead 10 and a button 11 at the upper front so as to provide the basic function of shower, as well as a head stand 12 to hang the showerhead 10.
The showerhead 10 is connected to hot and cold water pipes via an ordinary extendable metal tube so as to spray the hot or cold water. The showerhead 10 may be used as hung over the head stand 12 or as held in hand.
As shown in FIG. 5, the height of the head stand 12 can be raised or lowered depending on the user's height. To this end, a slide groove 20 formed in the vertical direction is provided at the front of the shower panel bar 13. The backside of the head stand 12 is coupled with the slide groove 20, such that the height can be adjusted while moving the head stand 12 up or down.
At one side of the head stand 12, a push knob 22 is equipped to enable the head stand 12 to be released from the fixing state or fix it again.
For example, when the user pushes the knob, the coupling projection (not shown in the figure) at the backside of the stand, which has been coupled with the coupling groove (not shown in the figure) inside the slide groove, becomes uncoupled. And, when the knob is released, the coupling projection is coupled again inside the coupling groove. Hence, the height of the shower head 10 can be adjusted by pushing the knob and releasing it at wanted height. The coupling and uncoupling using the knob can be performed by the methods commonly used in the related art.
The button 11 is a means to control the supply of water and interruption thereof, and the selection of cold or what water, and is not particularly different from the one used in a conventional shower. Particularly, as shown in FIG. 6, the button 11 is equipped with an LED lighting
19 around the button 11. The LED lighting 19 may be turned on and off whether a cold or hot water is in use or not. For example, it may be turned on when water is used, and turned off and water is not used.
As such, the user can easily know the state of the water through the LED lighting 19, while he/she takes a shower by manipulating the button 11. Further, a visually elegant shower environment can be provided.
The LED lighting 19 may be designed to display various colors depending on the temperature of the cold or hot water. For instance, hot water may be displayed as red color, and cold water as blue color. As such, the user can easily know if the water is hot or cold just by checking the color of the LED lighting, and conveniently select the wanted water temperature.
The shower panel bar 13 is also equipped with a ring 18 which provides an independent space of distinction and enables to hang hold clothes or towels.
The ring 18 encompasses a predetermined area at the upper part of the shower panel bar 13, and is supported by a bar that crosses the ring 18.
As such, the user may hang a shower curtain 17 over the ring 18, and may hang clothes or towels over the ring or bar.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating the use of a shower panel with a sporting outfit according to an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 2, the user is taking a shower.
The user may wash his/her body with cold or hot water sprayed from the showerhead by controlling the button, while holding the showerhead in hand or fixing it on the head stand.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating the use of a shower panel with a sporting outfit according to another embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 3, the user is taking exercise using the sporting outfit equipped at the side of the shower panel bar.
The user may strengthen his/her arms or shoulders by pulling the handles from the shower panel bar and repeatedly drawing and releasing the handles with both hands. The user may take exercise either standing or sitting.
FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating the use of a shower panel with a sporting outfit according to still another embodiment of the present invention.
In FIG. 4, the user is taking a shower behind a shower curtain.
Since the user can take a shower after attaching a shower curtain around the ring of the shower panel bar, he/she can take a shower conveniently and comfortably.
The present invention has been described in detail with reference to preferred embodiments thereof. However, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the invention, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.
