Abstract

This invention relates to preventing a certain part of the fuel that is dispersed under the effect of centrifugal force arising when the vehicle is taking a full turn on a bend from going down below the suction level in at least one of the suction areas by keeping it in a barrier set (4) which is placed in the fuel tank (1).

Description

DESCRIPTION
BARRIER SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE FUEL TANK
Subject of the invention
This invention relates to preventing the fuel that is dispersed in the fuel tank (1) under the effect of centrifugal force during the vehicle is on its course on a sharp bend road; from going down below the suction level in at least one of the suction areas.
State of Prior Art
The fuel tanks, according to the vehicle type and engine type, might differ in terms of shape, volume and position. The functions of the fuel tanks are independent from the vehicle type and engine type. In general, a fuel tank should have such features: The fuel tank should be loaded safely, it should be secure against fault and evaporation, the fuel amount that is left in the tank should be measurable or observable, high pressure protection should be provided, it should feed the engine constantly.
All of the modern fuel systems feed the engine with a pump. The fuel is taken from the tank with a suction pipe. Minimum suction level is provided by designing the suction pipe a bit above than the bottom surface of the tank in order to prevent the carriage of the residues which might occur in the tank or might be carried into the tank with the fuel to the engine. There is no fuel feeding below the minimum suction level. Although, this application is designed to provide engine protection it may create disadvantages in some situations.
In the present applications, since there is no special mechanism in the fuel tank (1) , while the vehicle is on its course on a sharp bend road, the fuel (5) level in the fuel tank goes below the minimum suction level for a short while and although it is for a very short time, a risk of outage of fuel feeding arises.
The sections (2) which are placed in the fuel tank decreases the severeness of this undulation arising from the movement of the vehicle but it can not prevent the fuel from going down below the suction level under the effect of centrifugal force .
Detailed Description of the invention
The purpose of this invention is to place barrier elements
(4) on the bottom of the vehicle fuel tank (1) and to protect and keep a certain amount of the fuel, which is dispersed with the effect of the centrifugal force in a barrier set
(4) , while the fuel level is low and the vehicle is on its course on a sharp bend road.
The barrier set (4) consists of an outer barrier element (4a) that protects the fuel to be kept inside from the flow effect of the dispersed fuel and an inner barrier element (4b) that protects this fuel from the effect of centrifugal force. The suction pipe complex (3) that is placed on the fuel tank as to centralize the barrier elements (4) is extended nearly up to the fuel base in the inner barrier element .
Thus, longer period of fuel feeding is provided with the fuel that is prevented from getting out of the set of barrier elements in the full lap turn to the right or to the left.
