Abstract

A contactless charger that can accurately measure the temperature of an object placed on a base. In the contactless charger, a magnetically permeable planar member (2) functioning as the base on which a device to be charged is placed, and a temperature sensor (10) is placed on a rear surface (21) of the planar member (2), at a position having a high magnetic flux density. This allows the object placed on a front surface (20) of the planar member (2) to be accurately measured. Further, when a foreign object is placed on the front surface (20), a rise in the temperature of the foreign object can be instantaneously detected to stop charging operation. This makes the contactless charger highly reliable. Also, the contactless charger uses the single temperature sensor (10), the cost is less than a case where multiple temperature sensors are used to increase measurement accuracy.
