Abstract
Provided is an audio band extension device which can realize complementation of a high-range component appropriate for a frequency band of an inputted audio signal. A frequency band of an original audio signal is predicted according to accompanying information on the original audio signal. According to the predicted frequency band, the sampling frequency to be converted is decided. The audio signal after subjected to the sampling frequency conversion is further subjected to a 1/2 down sampling process and a 2-multiplication up sampling process so as to generate a high-requency component. The audio signal for which a high-frequency component is generated is filtered by a low-pass filter having a predetermined attenuation feature for output.
