Abstract

本発明は、階調反転の発生し難い電圧-反射輝度特性を得ることができる半透過型又は反射型の液晶表示装置を提供する。本発明の液晶表示装置は、一対の基板と、上記一対の基板間に挟持された液晶層とを有する液晶表示装置であって、上記液晶表示装置は、透過領域と反射領域とを備え、上記反射領域内に、透過領域の液晶層厚の1/2倍よりも大きく1倍以下の液晶層厚を持った第一区域と、透過領域の液晶層厚よりも大きい液晶層厚を持った第二区域とを備えるものである。
