Description
A DRILLING MACHINE WITH PIVOTABLE CABIN
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to the technical sector of drilling machines for piling.
BACKGROUND ART As is known, drilling machines are located in the category of earth- moving machines. In general terms, a drilling machine comprises: a tracked movement system; a frame borne rotatably on the underlying tracked system, and subjected to actuator organs; a drilling rig associated to the frame; and a cockpit rigidly constrained to the frame, internally of which the operator controls the drilling group and the rotation of the whole frame during the various operating configurations.
The drilling group comprises one or more winches, a tower, a telescopic shaft, a rotating head and a boring tool.
By way of non-limiting example, drilling machines for piling are constructed to bore holes of a diameter usually comprised between 400 and 2500 millimetres to a depth which can reach up to 70 metres.
A drawback of drilling machines consists in the limited visibility of the operator in the cockpit, which in some cases makes the management of the drilling operations problematic and difficult; this also constitutes a potential risk to the safety of persons and means (and indeed also to the drill operator him- or herself) who or which are in the working area of the drilling machine.
To obviate this drawback, some machines include mirrors or video cameras which enable the operator to see the boring zone and the winches; a solution of this type, however, has shown itself to be
unsatisfactory with regard to the question of restricted visibility internally of the control cockpit, with all the negative implications this brings about (as mentioned above).
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
In the light of the above, the aim of the present invention is to provide a new-concept drilling machine for piling, which includes technical- functional characteristics required for obviating the drawbacks of the known-type solutions, as detailed above, i.e. improving the operator's vision during the drilling operations to a point at which visibility is satisfactory.
A further aim of the present invention is to provide a drilling machine having relatively contained costs, when considering the advantages it offers. The above aims are attained by means of a drilling machine comprising: a movement system; a frame borne rotatably on the movement system, subjected to first actuator organs; a drilling group associated to the frame, characterised in that it comprises a control cockpit hinged to the frame, destined to be moved by second actuator organs between extreme spatial positions.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The characteristics of the invention which do not emerge from the above brief description will be better detailed in the following, which is in agreement with what is set out in the claims with the aid of the accompanying figures of the drawings, in which: figure 1 is a frontal view of a drilling machine of the present invention; figures 2, 3, 4 are views in large scale of section A-A of figure 1 in three
significant operating configurations of the machine of the invention.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
With reference to the figures of the drawings, 1 denotes in its entirety the drilling machine of the present invention (figure 1 ), which comprises: a tracked movement system 2; a frame 3 borne rotatably relative to a vertical axis by the movement system 2 and operated by means of first actuator organs (not illustrated); a drilling group 4 borne on the frame 3; and a control cockpit 5 which is hinged projectingly to the frame 3 and activated with respect to a vertical axis by second actuator organs 6 between extreme positions in space.
The second actuator organs, in the illustrated example, comprise a hydraulic cylinder 6.
In the illustrated example the control cockpit 5 is destined to be moved between a position H1 in which it is substantially aligned with the axis of the frame 3, in which it is comprised within the outline profile of the frame 3 (figure 2), and a position H2 in which it projects with respect to the frame (figure 4), in which position the control cockpit 5 is partially external of the outline profile of the frame 3. In the illustrated example the maximum angular range which can be covered by the control cockpit 5 between the aforementioned positions is just less than 90°.
In the operating configurations of the drilling machine 1 , the operator in the control cockpit 5 can command the activation of the hydraulic cylinder 6 to bring the cockpit 5 into any position comprised between the ends H1 , H2 represented in figure 2, 4, for example in the position represented in figure 3 by way of example.
The operator can advantageously move the cockpit at his or her
discretion in order to find the position considered to be most suitable for good visibility during the functioning of the machine; with respect to known-type solutions, which have the cockpit 5 rigidly constrained to the frame 3 (and possibly include the use of mirrors or cameras), the machine 1 of the invention enables the operator to rotate the control cockpit 5, thus enabling him or her always to operate in optimal viewing conditions. Thus the operator suffers less from eye fatigue and as a result there is an improvement in safety vis-a-vis persons and means present in the working area of the drilling machine. A further advantage of the present invention is that it provides a new- concept drilling machine having relatively contained costs with respect to the advantages it offers.
The angular range of movement of the control cockpit 5 can be greater than 90 degrees. The above is described by way of non-limiting example, and any variations of a pratical-applicational nature are considered to fall within the ambit of protection of the invention as it is described in the above description and in the following claims.
