Abstract

Provided is an objective optical element unit for an optical pickup device which suitably records and/or reproduces information on/from different optical information recoding mediums at low cost. Such optical pickup device is also provided. On an optical surface on a light source side of a first optical element (L1), a first basic structure and a second basic structure are placed one over another. Since a luminous flux passed through the center of the first basic structure is made to always pass the center of the second basic structure, residual coma aberration is reduced, and information is suitably recorded and/or reproduced irrespective of temperature change.
