Abstract

複数のスピーカを備えるマルチチャンネル再生システムのチャンネル割り当て装置は、複数のスピーカの各々について、当該スピーカと視聴位置の前後左右の測定位置との間の距離を測定する。視聴位置の左右の測定位置との距離に基づいて、視聴位置に対する各スピーカの左右位置が判定され、視聴位置の前後の測定位置との距離に基づいて、視聴位置に対する各スピーカの前後位置が判定される。そして、左右位置及び前後位置の組み合わせに基づいて、視聴位置に対する各スピーカの相対位置が判定される。判定された相対位置に基づいて、複数のスピーカの各々に、再生信号のチャンネルが割り当てられる。
