Abstract

A light emitting device comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode and further, provided therebetween and sequentially superimposed from the positive electrode side, at least a hole transport layer and a luminescent layer containing nanocrystal luminescent microparticles, wherein the hole transport layer and the luminescent layer are adjacent to each other and wherein the difference between the ionization potential (IPHTL) of hole transport material constructing the hole transport layer and the ionization potential (IPNEP) of the above nanocrystal luminescent microparticles satisfies the formula: |IPHTL - IPNEP| ≤ 1.0 [eV].
