Abstract
Disclosed is a polymer compound which is suitably used for an organic electroluminescent device, and an intermediate of such a polymer compound. Also disclosed are a method for producing such a compound and an organic electroluminescent device using such a compound. Specifically disclosed is a sulfo group-containing polymer compound which is characterized by having a structure wherein a sulfo group is introduced into a polymer compound having at least one repeating unit represented by the general formula (1) below in a polymer chain. (In the formula below, Z1-Z4 represent a substituent; p1 and p2 represent an integer of 0-5; p3 and p4 represent an integer of 0-4; Ar1 and Ar2 represent a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent aromatic group; and Y represents a divalent condensed polycyclic aromatic group or a divalent aromatic group linked by an alkylene group or a single bond. In this connection, an amino group is excluded as a substituent on the monovalent aromatic groups represented by Ar1 and Ar2.) Also specifically disclosed is an intermediate of such a polymer compound.
