Definitions
- the present invention relates to a washing machine wherein the cleaning agents are effectively mixed into the wash solution.
- the water intaken from outside at the start of the washing process mixes with the detergent forming the wash solution and the main washing step is started.
- some portion of the detergent does not dissolve in water and settles on the bottom of the tub.
- the detergent that settles on the bottom cannot partake effectively in the washing and is expelled out together with the water discharged at the end of the washing process. Therefore, detergent consumption increases and the desired washing quality cannot be attained.
- the settling detergent is tried to be dissolved by increasing the temperature of the wash solution by means of the heater.
- the object of the present invention is to design a washing machine wherein the washing agents that settle on the bottom of the tub are mixed into the water.
- the washing machine designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a mixer that is situated in the gap between the tub and the drum, at the lower side of the tub.
- the mixer is situated at a position near the sides of the discharge orifice, for mixing the wash solution in the tub before being discharged out of the tub and mixing in water the detergent accumulated particularly at the sides of the discharge orifice and dissolving in the wash solution.
- the desired effectiveness of stirring is attained by the mixer making rotational movement in the wash solution.
- a mixer is utilized that churns the wash solution by making a vibrational movement.
- the mixer churns the wash solution and dissolves the detergent settled on the bottom of the tub in the wash solution by making small oscillations in the right, left or backwards, forwards directions.
- the mixer is secured to the heater plate that attaches the heater to the tub and the fins operate between the heater tubes.
- the mixer occupies much space in the gap between the tub and the drum. The heat generated by the heater is dissipated homogeneously to the wash solution and the settled detergent dissolves in the wash solution.
- the mixer is operated by a drum motor that drives the drum and a transmission means that receives the motion from the drum motor.
- a mixer motor is used that actuates only the mixer.
- the mixer motor is operated in the washing steps and not in the spin-drying step, preventing the increase in noise and energy consumption. Furthermore, since a very small energy is required for actuating the mixer, a simple mixer motor is sufficient.
- the mixer is used both in stirring the wash solution and also for heating the wash solution.
- the mixer comprises resistor elements that are heated by electric power as in conventional heaters, thus heating the wash solution and also activating the wash solution by means of the motion received from the drum motor or the mixer motor.
- Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a washing machine.
- Figure 2 - is the schematic view of a heater, a mixer and a mixer motor included in the washing machine in another embodiment of the present invention.
- the washing machine (1) comprises a tub (2) wherein washing/drying processes of the laundry are made, a drum (3) that rotates inside the tub
- the washing machine (1) of the present invention comprises a mixer (8), that is disposed in the gap (G) between the tub (2) and the drum (3) and that rotates in the water (S) between the tub (2) and the drum (3) for mixing the wash solution (S) before being discharged out of the tub (2).
- the mixer (8) is situated in the gap (G) between the tub (2) and the drum (3), in a position near the sides of the discharge orifice (7) which opens to lower part of the tub (2) and mixes, the wash solution (S) in the vicinity of the discharge orifice (7), thus maintains the detergent that settles to the bottom of the tub (2) and particularly deposited at the sides of the discharge orifice (7) to be dissolved in the wash solution (S).
- the mixer (8) Since the mixer (8) operates in the gap (G) between the tub (2) and the drum (3), the water (S) that is activated impacts on the surfaces of the tub (2) and the drum (3) that face each other and an effective mixing is attained.
- a mixer (8), having a small size and a simple configuration is sufficient for the mixing process.
- the wash solution (S) is formed by mixing the detergent in water and the wash solution (S) collects at the bottom of the tub (2).
- the detergent that does not dissolve in the wash solution (S) settles to the bottom of the tub (2) and accumulates around the discharge orifice (7) which is at the inner surface of the tub (2) at the lowest position.
- the mixer (8) that operates under the tub (2), in the gap (G) between the tub (2) and the drum (3), activates the wash solution (S), providing the detergent that is settled at the bottom to be dissolved in the wash solution (S).
- a mixer (8) is utilized that churns the wash solution (S) by making a vibrational movement.
- the mixer (8) churns the wash solution (S) and dissolves the detergent settled on the bottom of the tub (2) in the wash solution (S) by making small oscillations for example in the right, left or backwards, forwards directions.
- a mixer (8) is utilized that makes a rotational movement for stirring the wash solution (S).
- the mixer (8) for example is configured like a propeller and stirs the wash solution (S) by means of propeller fins making rotational movement and dissolves the detergent settled on the bottom of the tub (2) in the wash solution (S).
- the washing machine (1) comprises a heater (5) disposed in the gap (G) between the tub (2) and the drum (3) for heating the wash solution (S), a fixing plate (6) situated at the lower side of the tub (2) for securing the heater (5) to the tub (2) and the mixer (8) is mounted to the fixing plate (6) that secures the heater (5) to the tub (2) by means of a roller or sliding bearing such that vibrational or rotational movement thereof is allowed.
- the mixer (8) that bears on the fixing plate (6) is disposed between the tubes of the heater (5) ( Figure 2).
- the mixer (8) is attached to the fixing plate (6) by only boring an additional hole at the center of the holes to which the heater (5) tubes are fitted, since the fixing plate (6) is used jointly by the heater (5) and the mixer (8) providing savings in material consumption.
- the mixer (8) provides mixing the detergent deposits between the tub (2) and the drum to the wash solution (S) as well as dissipation of the heat generated by the heater (5) homogeneously into the wash solution (S) by activating the wash solution (S) in the vicinity of the heater (5).
- the washing machine (1) comprises a transmission means (9) that maintains the mixer (8) to operate with the motion received from the drum motor (4) ( Figure 1). While the drum (3) is actuated by the drum motor (4), the mixer (8) is rotated by the transmission means (9) at the same time, and since a very small amount of torque is sufficient for the mixer (8) to move, the additional load on the drum motor (4) is insignificant.
- the washing machine (1) comprises a mixer motor (10) that actuates only the mixer (8) ( Figure 2).
- the mixer motor (10) since the mixer motor (10) is independent from the movements of the drum (3), it is operated in the washing steps, not in the drying steps, thus preventing increase of noise and excess energy consumption. Since a small amount of power is required to rotate the mixer (8), a low cost mixer motor (10) will be sufficient.
- the mixer (8) is used in stirring the wash solution (S) as well as heating the wash solution (S).
- the mixer (8) is produced in a configuration similar to the heater (5) thereby heating the wash solution (S) and also activating the wash solution (S) with the motion received from the drum motor (4) or the mixer motor (10).
- the detergent that settles down during water intake can be more effectively mixed in the wash solution (S) in the washing step. Detergent consumption decreases by using the detergent efficiently and washing quality is enhanced. Since the wash solution (S) in the vicinity of the heater (5) is stirred, the heat generated by the heater (5) is dissipated homogeneously. Ease of production and maintenance is provided by mounting the heater (5) and the mixer (8) at the same location.
