Abstract

A delivery server (300) in a data processing system (100A) transmits CSS encrypted content data (20), which is obtained by partially encrypting unencrypted content data (10) with a title key, to a host device (410). The host device (410) generates a write command including operation code information and encryption flag information and transfers the write command to a driving device (460) together with main data. The host device (410) encrypts the title key so as to be decryptable with a bus key in the driving device (460) and transfers the encrypted title key to the driving device (460). According to the title key decrypted with the bus key and the encryption flag information, the driving device (460) records, on a DVD-R (1), sector data including sector encryption information, in which information indicating not being encrypted is recorded, and unencrypted main data and sector data including sector encryption information, in which the title key is recorded, and encrypted main data.
