Abstract

A stator assembly (34) for a turbine engine (10) is disclosed. The stator assembly (34) has a stator support ring (42), a plurality of stator vanes (40) protruding radially inwardly from the stator support ring (42), and at least one bleed port (48) disposed on the stator support ring (42) in a static high pressure region (50) between at least two adjacent stator vanes (40a, 40b) of the plurality of stator vanes (40). The at least one bleed port (48) defines an oblong profile. The profile includes a first end (48a) terminating near a leading edge (52) of a first stator vane (40a) of the at least two adjacent stator vanes (40a, 40b), and a second end (48b), substantially opposed from the first end (48a), terminating near a trailing edge (54) of a second stator vane (40b) of the at least two adjacent stator vanes (40a, 40b). The profile is concave toward a suction sidewall (58) of the stator vane second (40b) of the at least two adjacent stator vanes (40a, 40b).
