Abstract

Disclosed is a substrate for recording medium, which is easily produced by molding and hardly softened or melted. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a substrate for recording medium. Specifically disclosed is a substrate for recording medium, which is characterized in that at least one side of a circular disk-like substrate is composed of an energy curable resin. Also specifically disclosed is a method for producing such a substrate for recording medium, which is characterized in that at least one of a first mold and a second mold has a flat groove. The method is further characterized in that a circular cavity, which is formed by arranging the first mold and the second mold as to face each other with the flat groove being located inside, is filled with a liquid energy curable resin, and the liquid energy curable resin is cured therein.
