Abstract

A control valve for a variable displacement compressor has a power element (6) provided at an end of a body (5), at a position on the side opposite a solenoid (3). In the power element (6), the inside of a housing (50) is partitioned by a pressure sensing member, such as a diaphragm (19), into a closed space (S1) and an open space (S2), and a suction pressure (Ps) is introduced into a pressure chamber (29) formed in the open space (S2). A valve body (22) is driven and operated by the pressure sensing member that is displaced based on the suction pressure (Ps). Thus, a pressure sensing member, such as a diaphragm, is not installed between the body (5) and the solenoid (3), and as a result, the structure of the control valve is simple.
